  1. Is this thread still rumbling on.... I think that we can summarise by saying there are two camps, one for people who actually like football who are capable of going home after a match without getting into any trouble and feel that anyone who does deserves exactly what they get, and those who care little for football and who's matchday experience centres around having a ruck with opposing fans.....
  2. Good old pie eating Mike!
  3. Is this thread the right place for that old forum favourite of Stooey standing up for football hooligans with his 'boys will be boys' line of argument and resorting to calling other posters 'mongs' and 'retards' for thinking otherwise? Just checking like......
  4. Do people really want Lowe back?
  5. As the poster said above, I've no problems with the colours of the forum but providing a monocromatic type of display option for worksafe mode would probably be used by a great many posters!
  6. Steve, Personally I wasn't saying the new default colour scheme is less "work safe" than the current default one. However, on the 'old' forum there was an option to change the display format to one that was light/ble grey and removed all avatars, this was very work safe indeed but there is no option to change the display type at all on the new forum.
  7. Any chance of another display style for those who access at 'work'? The default one is a tad loud!
  8. I would have no problem with that at all. If they are only concerned with maximising profit then the club will have to be doing well to acheve this. You won't make much money on L1 revenues. All I want from my club is to do well on the pitch. Have no interest at all about whether a chairman gives a sh it about the fans or whether he allows meaningful dialogue and goods communication with the fans/fans groups. Our fans seemed to carry far too much stall in worrying about what the Chairman's opinions are of them. One of the reasons Lowe was so hated was that he made it obvious how much contempt he had for the fans, but in reality I would imagine that Glazer, Levy, Abramovich and the rest (inc Cortese) all think that a large majority of their club's fanbase are utter morons. I think if I owned a football club I would feel the same.
  9. He did ok in the Paint Pot Final.....
  10. Well he didn't seem to realise he needed Police approval to move the away fans.....
  11. In Stooey world it's even worse than being a student.... or a woman.
  12. :D:D You didn't disappoint Docker! I have been eagerly awaiting your response! Yep, you are right, there is no tradition at all in playing for one season in the club's initial colours! None of the great players have worn anything like it? Well, Keegan, Channon, Ball and the rest all played in a kit that wasn't stripes. The arguement has been done to death, but to summarise: Stripes are Newcastle Red and White is Southampton.
  13. A car is not a luxury item (well apart from a Rolls Royce....). For by far the majority of people a car is needed to get to work as taking public transport would take hours to complete a 15 minute journey. Obviously this is not the case for yourself, living in the 1970s, as you can easily walk or bus it to the factory to do your shift and return home in time to watch Nationwide.
  14. Want to be in our gang Tris?
  15. I've heard that Cortese will be talking to the Saints Trust, SISA and the Romsey Saints Trust. He's going to take Nick, Richard and Stu to Burger King.
  16. Stooey, you really are losing it. First off you have a long standing issue with the Saints Trust steming from them not helping you with a fund raising idea and now a huge anti-Cortese campaign seemingly steming from him not returning your call about if/where we might be going on a pre-season tour! You challenged someone on the locked 'is there a problem at SFC' thread to give an example of good communication from the club that has happened while Cortese has been Chairman. The obvious reply to this would be why the feck do you want good communication from a football club?? Most sane fans couldn't give a flying f'k about if the Chairman bothered replying to an email they sent. What a sane fan wants is for the team they support to be playing good, entertaining, winning football in a nice stadium, all of which we have been doing and fingers crossed should be doing again next year. Hopefully we will, in good time, sign a handful of useful players this Summer that will help us improve the squad and gain promotion. Sane fans really don't really care if the s/t renewal forms come out a few weeks later than might be expected, or if the new kit isn't on sale quite as quickly as they may like. They don't even care if the payment plan for season tickets is abolished as, after all, there is a way you can pay in 23 installements to watch Saints play, it's called buying a ticket. If you really are so ghey that you wanted to spend you Summer holiday following the club on a foreign pre-season tour playing friendlies (or meaningless friendlies as you called them last season) then you and Denzil really should get out of the house more.
  17. The new season kicks off in August. HTH.
  18. Hmmm, obsessed eh? That would be someone who bangs on and on (and on) about the same things over and over again? Kinda like someone who continually posts about the Saints Trust and now continually posts about the removal of the installment plan? Yep, that would be obsessed. Personally I think 3 posts a day is a very good daily quote, anything more and there is the tendency to end up like you, posting message after message of utter pointlessness. Why don't you go the whole hog and just post your mobile number on here and complete the final stage in your transformation into the next Richard Chorley! As I said, no one can take your stance on this seriously as you have no interest at all in football.
  19. Well done to our own reisdent Danny Dyer for getting 'mugging off' included in his rant. Have you considered asking Cortese to jog on? I can't believe someone who has absolutely no interest whatsoever in football is putting so much effort into moaning about the removing of the installment payment plan for s/ts.....
  20. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8199834.Saints_not_the_only_club_without_ticket_payment_plan/?ref=mr
  21. He won't answer, he's currently off talking to Thomas Cook to see if he can find a 'no cost to the club' way they can go on a pre-season tour that Stooey and his mates can tag along to......
  22. The ball may well be in Cortese's court Stooey but unfortunately for you, he aint playing with you.....
  23. I wonder if, since the membership scheme is going to be re-launched, that one of the 'perks' of membership will be no booking fees on ticket purchases?
  24. I am really hoping for a sash shirt, mainly to enjoy just how angry it will make docker-p!
  25. Cortese referred to a former player who was involved in a rival consortium. Do you not think that was MLT? Did I miss the Marcelo Sarmiento - Bill Gates rival bid for Saints then?
