  1. I quite agree. What you have described is no different at all. If you don't want the views of a person on someone else to be part of the thread don't mention it in the first place. By saying, doing what you outlined above you can guarantee that the thread will soon descend into 'what were their views? Go on, tell us...' just as this thread has swerved totally away from Kevin Moore and onto just what were LM's and MLT's 'political' views. Which I personally would suggest is just what the topic author was hoping for.
  2. One day I am hopeful we will get an entire post from FF without it having a 'nudge nudge wink wink' I know something you don't.... but I'm not going to tell you' reference.... I'm not holding my breath tho. If someone has a snippetof 'ITK' info, either tell people about it or don't mention it all. I can't really fathom why you would say you know something but best not to repeat it. Unless it's a form of attention seeking?
  3. Anyone who really thought that MoN would ever consier managing a L1 club needs sectioning for their own safety. If you ever need proof that most of the rumours that swirl around football are made up ****** then how about the one that Holloway applied for the job? He is a manager who has spent his career in the lower leagues but is currently having the time of his life pitting his wits against the likes of Fergie in the Prem. If anyone really thought he had applied for the job then sectioning would be too kind, it's padded cell time.
  4. It may be harsh but I really hope it isn't Adkins.....
  5. The Keegan who got Fulham promoted from the third tier of English football?
  6. I don't believe a manager can just resign to move to another club with no 'transfer' fee being agreed any more than a player can.
  7. If the new manager is being appointed tomorrow I cannot see how it could possibly be anyone currently managing a club which would rule Adkins out....
  8. Anyone else having no sound on the video clips? It may be a problem on my iPhone as I do sometimes have sound issues on other apps that have video clips....
  9. The bloated squad of 40 when we went down was nothing to do with a committee and everything to do with having three different managers in a single season.
  10. and don't forget he also got Man City promoted to the Prem.
  11. Obtaining good PR amongst a football fanbase is so easy that it's amazing that so many Chairman are very bad at it. Any chancer who comes along with nothing to offer but meaningless platitudes will soon have the fans eating out of his hand. Just ask Michael Wilde.
  12. Yeah!! Let's hound out Cortese and the Billionaires!! Can you please arrange a Chorleying asap? (that's a contingent of morons who can go to his house and stand at the end of his drive shouting abuse.) Let's plan for a much better future, if you go and dig out Micky Fialka's phone number (I think it's the same as his Mum's) I'll PM Tony Lynham.
  13. Cover for Pulis?
  14. It's Italy, I would imagine they are awaiting some form of bribe....
  15. Would the paperwork have had to be received by midday for him to be eligible for tomorrow?
  16. The thing I REALLY don't get about Alpine is that he doesn't seem to gain one single shred of pleasure from following Saints. He puts a negative slant on everything that happens with the club. I cannot fathom why someone would spend so much of their free time obsessing over something that provides them with so little satisfaction. I mean why would you bother? You'd just go and find a hobby that gives you a little more in return or spend more time with the family. Yes, supporting Saints is not as easy as being an arm-chair Manc but to most reasonable fans each season brings new hope and every new signing has the potential of being a great. That's what being a supporter is all about. This is a perfect case in point, we're a fecking third tier English League club and yet we've gone and signed a Brazilian who would have been playing in Serie A if he had stayed where he was. So what do you do? a) look forward in anticipation to watching him play..... or b) get all depressed that he might be a signing of the Chairman and not the manager? If haven't the slightest doubt that if ever got to the CL final against Madrid and Messi scored a hat-trick as we won 4-2 that Alps would start a thread the following morning on our worrying defensive frailties.....
  17. It would be unfair to say Papa was failure. As loans go it was a pretty successful one. Granted he was not as important to our season as RL and AL but he was def the biggest reason we won our first silverwear in decades. As loans go he certainly wasn't in the Sarmiento, Arias, Tejera envelope.....
  18. I think the reason was that he was a bit of a wild card player. His unpredictability was his biggest strength but also his biggest weakness. Many times during games you could see AP totally lose his rag with Papa for giving the ball away cheaply and leaving us under counter attack which is almost certainly why Papa was not a regular last season, AP never felt he could totally trust him. I undertstand that this may have gone unnoticed to those who never actually go to games but instead form strong opinions from what emmits from a wireless in a foreign land.....
  19. Has Stu applied for a voluntary banning again?
  20. Is it possible that the Mods could split 'The Saints' forum into two seperate forums? One could be called 'Football' for those that want to discuss matches, team lineups, formations, transfer activity, how the manager is performing, etc and the second could be called 'non-football' where those who choose could go to discuss issues such as corporate hospitality, installment packages, car parking barriers at SMS, match ticket booking fees, matchday photography at SMS and the myriad of other 'important' things that this board seems to have become swamped by in the past few months. I can quite see why many posters are returning to a '3 a day' free membership as paying to contribute to the same old pointless discussions that are being dug up and gone over time and time again is not exactly good value for money.
  21. I think you will find that is what Stu was hoping for.....
  22. Where did I say I don't go to games? I thought you were the one who mostly goes to away games now?
  23. C- A poor trolling post to start an anti-Cortese debate. Must do better.
  24. After reading the very moving watch story it is clear to see just how close NC was to Markus and given what he did in saving the club I really do feel that we should forget any past petty arguements about 'bad communication', lack of payment plans, etc and unite as one behind Nicola. There is no doubt at all that this is what Markus would have wanted.
  25. edited to make sense!
