  1. in the CCC.....
  2. Indeed. Santos is going on loan to PSG. We've as much chance of signing a £5m player who started 28 games for Barca last season as we do of signing Kaka!
  3. Two words 'Dull'
  4. If only Lowe had the balls to re-appoint Hoddle we would not be where we are now.
  5. A very fair and accurate assessment of the situation which will no doubt be totally and utterly ignored by the rabid anti-Lowe keyboard thumpers. In the early 90s no reasonable Saints fan could argue against the fact that the only way we didn't get relegated was MLT. Bar him we we utter sh ite with players such as Dixon, Speedie, Dryden, etc. We also played at a ground too small to support top flight football and had an academy that last unearthed a gem in Danny Wallace.... After Lowe took over, even with MLT's playing abilities in decline we actually improved as a tam and went for perennial relegation fodder to a team competing in the top half of the table under Hoddle and WGS (and were in a CL qualifying position at Xmas not too long ago...) and oh yeah, we also reached a cup final. However all of these facts seem to have been erased from the memories of the key board thumpers! It's absurd that some on here seem set on perpertrating the myth that we were a top 6 team when Lowe took over and that by his penny pinching, profit removal and concentrating on money before football we fell from this position to where we are now..... Nice story but it's about as true as the Three Bears....
  6. True. But if he practices enough we might be some day....
  7. Is Saeiks Dutch for Dailly?
  8. Not really. We are in the CCC, don't have much cash, undersoil heating is expensive and how many games have we lost to a frozen pitch in the last few years?
  9. McMenemy is a football dinosaur who needs to stop hanging around SMS and get back to tending his roses as he was doing during the WGS era. He is nothing but a bitter old man doing bringing nothing positive to the club when it is going through troubled times. Yes he was manager during our most successful time but that was in a different age and football now bears no comparison at all to how it was in the 70s 80s. People like Bobby Charlton show how great former players/manangers should behave. He is a true servant to the club and has never stooped to having to be handsomly reimbursed for the work he does for Man Yoo. The same cannot be said for McMoneyme who demands payment for any involvement with the club. The trouble with LM is his huge ego, maybe that's why him and Lowe cannot stand each other.... Can you name another manager who awarded HIMSELF a testomonial match (and then moaned that not as many fans turned up as did to Channon's!!). If you need to find out just how big a legend he is in his own mind then re-read 'Diary of a Season', it's laughable how LM constantly compares himself to the likes of Shankly and Clough when, in managerial terms, he isn't fit to shine their shoes. With an FA Cup win as the only major trophy win in his career he should be comparing himself to the likes of Bobby Gould and Redknapp.....
  10. Indeed. Loads of pace is exactly what you need to be a good CB. Pallister and Bruce were almost as quick as Usain Bolt......
  11. Due to arrive shortly at SMS for his medical. Watch out for the ice Christian!!
  12. Shouldn't really matter as he dosn't go to games anyway. Having said that Chuckles Chorley will no doubt be gutted about not being able to go to SMS to watch his beloved Man Yoo play....
  13. You shouldn't have. No really, you shouldn't have. The whole thing needs some work. :smt078
  14. True but I guess a bid of a few old buttons and an IOU probably won't bring home the bacon.....
  15. Prefer Cork at CB to Pearce
  16. The below article says it is a two horse race and neither is Hockaday... http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/sport/sportheadlines/3985388.Two_horse_race_for_the_Swindon_hotseat/
  17. Delgado's team have just kicked off in the semi-final of the World Club Cup. Not sure if it's on tv. Come on Tin!! http://www.tindelgado.com/
  18. Dream on..... He's just avoiding the inevitable abuse he would suffer from a small but vocal group of anti-Lowe supporters who have bought a share or two for no other reason that to be able to attend the AGM and hurl vitriol at the favourite target (and his new found ally) Hate to disappoint you but the AGM will be a total non-event.
  19. The AGM will prove to be anything but interesting....
  20. There is no way that we could afford to pay what Davies would demand. Also, even after the bad spell in the Prem, Davies is still a highly rated manager. When he accepts a new job it won't be for a stgruggling CCC team with no money to spend and on the verges of administration. Davies is quite simply out of our league. We will end up at a struggling Prem team or a CCC team challenging for promotion. If Lowe was to look for a new manager it would have to the usual out of work suspects or maybe a manager from L1/L2 who could be lured by the sight of our nice newish stadium and facilities. Davies? Not a chance, we might as well start a thread on getting Wenger in.
  21. At least Burley had one of those three.....
  22. There's a good chance we can go into Xmas 7 points clear of the drop zone and given what has happened this season I wouldn't be too displeased with that.
  23. This season was always going to be a struggle for survival. I can't see the reasoned thinking behind people saying that we would be doing far better if we had kept Pearson. If Stern John's shot had gone a few inches wider then Pearson would have got us relegated last season and I can't see how he was going to be good enough to get us to mid-table or better when we would have had to get rid of almost all of our first team players from last season no matter who was the manager. If we can beat a team in the bottom three at home on Saturday there is a very good chance we will go into Xmas 7 points clear of the relegation zone which I think will be a pretty good acheivement.
  24. Hi Denz! How's the 3 year Ban from all football stadia in the UK thing working out for ya? Maybe you could write a column on what you have been up to on Saturday arfternoon's. What's it been? Watching rugby (or does the ban include that too?) or is it knitting and tiddlywinks? :smt060
  25. Does Tim live in America? I would never have guessed as he normally doesn't like to talk about it.
