Well at least he's still doing something for his wages since he is still be paid I presume. Maybe he should show his loyalty to the cause and cancel his contract and wait to be called back when/if needed....

I'm not sure this was the case. From what was said at the time we did not go over our agreed overdraft limit. What pushed us into admin was Barclays reducing our overdraft limit by £1m and demanding we pay them this money immediately. Our inablilty to do this pushed us into admin.

I don't really think you can say for sure that you will never see Saints in the top flight again. Fortunes change so quickly in football, especially in the days of money ruling all. If we ever do get a rich owner when the economy picks up it might not take long to re-establish the club in the top flight. 10 years seems an eternity in football now. A few months more than 10 years ago Hull were bottom of the entire football league. It was not much longer than that that Man City were in the third flight. Also take a look at how quickly the fortunes of Wigan and Reading were turned around when they were taken over by Whelan and Madjeski. Keep the faith!

3 recent PL teams down to League One - Coincidence?
once_bitterne replied to Saint Martini's topic in The Saints
Yes, of course it's all linked. It is an absurd situation where any club that is relegated faces loses the majority of its income in that while the Sky money in the Prem is huge you get but a few hundred grand in the CCC. For an established Prem, non yo-yo, club like Saints or Charlton it is even worse as they have been used to the Sky money for years. We cannot keep having the situation where by a club getting relegated (which happens to three Prem club every year...) means that the club are facing almost certain financial ruin. This is why a Prem 2 needs to be brought in asap for the good of all English football. -

We aren't going to lose the stadium, it's on a pretty low value piece of land for housing and it's not as if it can be sold to another club to play their games on. The mortgage payements are manageable even for a L1 club so the new owners probably will want to take ownership of the stadium and even if they didn't the council seem ready to step in which again would make sense as they could easily make more that the yearly mortgage payment by using the stadium more concerts and other non-footballing things. There really is a 0% chance of the club surviving but ending up not playing at SMS.

What a Shame we were never treated as fans

It looks like Micheal Wilde still uses his log-on to view this forum. He last logged in last night at half 7! -
I think you meant appointed not sacked. The moment the club went into decline was when Lowe caved in to 'popular' opinion and got cold feet on re-appointing Hoddle as manager. It's been downhill ever since.

Kiddies must be backat school this week Stevie so you can get back to polishing the Godwin ego in the classroom. I hope to god you are off to Cambodia this Summer to save the poor and/or nutty children. I don't think we could stand six solid weeks or your Walter Mitty ramblings...

'Sits back and waits for Tiggy Tim to respond with a tub thumping eulogy of how utterly amazing the good ol U S of A is..... He's a born and bread American is Mr Mumford, his Dad is OJ Simpson and his Great Great Great Grandad was Abraham Lincoln.....'

If we do get a points deduction will it definately be for NEXT season?
-
Ask him what he's been spending the money he claimed in expenses on.
-
Were Leeds owned by a parent plc that you could purchase shares on the stock market tho??????
-
If we avoid taking a points hit isn't this the biggest reason possible for us being a plc (or at least being owned by one) and a benefit that seems to have been completly and utterly overlooked!!!!!!
-
Haven't West Ham avoided points deduction even tho their parent co. went into admin?

It still staggers me that there are fans that still believe that Paul Allen had any inclination whatsoever to take over a 'soccer' club in the South of the England. There is not an ounce of truth in this. The club itself pretty much admitted this at one of the fans forums when they said it all came from a call from someone purporting to represent Allen saying they were interested in investing in the club. However, the club did some research and this person was not who he said he was. Yet some people still cling to the notion that one of the Richest men in the world would really be interested in taking over SFC. Personally I believe this rumour was at the very least purpetuated and at the worst actually started by the 'Wilde Bunch' in order to deflect attention from their own spectacular failure in the s hit or just strategy of giving Gormless George £8m to pi ss up against the wall. And what the hey, it certainly worked, all the talk of the fan's forums that Summer was of Billionaire takeovers, not what a pitiful job the Wilde Bunch were doing and how they were driving us to the inevitable brink of administration.
