Yes there was a surprising amount of negativity this week. We've objectively been the best team in the division so far. Equal most points earned, joint best goal difference, third highest scorers, second lowest goals conceded. Yet you'd have got the impression that we're scraping along, defending terribly and missing chances galore.

Listening to the Solent special on BBC Sounds, have they not misinterpreted the suspended sentence? They are saying if he does it again he'd just get a six game ban, but surely there would be a new charge, with it's own punishment, on top of that. And I suspect as it would be a repeat offence the next ban would be longer.

Because of course, sacking him wouldn't have had any impact on the club as we'd have been guaranteed to replace him with someone even better....

That's on the EFL though. They knew about this before the first leg, they proposed throwing us out, why the hell did they let both matches happen?

One thing I don't understand, why is it only Tonda who has been charged? Surely the head of the scouting department is as responsible? Probably more so as the direct line manager of Salt. It feels like they just went for the headline-grabbing charge.

The defender had already tried pulling him back, before they got into the box. Then there was a very deliberate push, he extended his arm. I don't know why you are characterising it as a 'touch', it was a shove.

They've also got the light and dark reds the wrong way round (the very centre should be the lighter red), the saints badge is also off centre, and the puma logo should be fully inside the stripe. But apart from that 😂

We've won 7/8 (win against Boro in the playoffs but level after 90 minutes) of our last 10 matches at home, and haven't lost in our last 11.

I not even sure what kind of midfielder Charles is yet? He scored a few goals last year, but mainly from arriving late in the attack (similar to Smallbone when we got promoted). I don't really remember him playing defence splitting passes too often. In fact I watched him for Fulham the other night, I know he's new there but it was basically all simple passes to recycle the ball (many of them backwards). JWP can do all of the above, so not sure why people think he wouldn't be a decent replacement for Charles. A replica isn't necessarily what we want anyway, you could argue we should have 2 midfielders who mainly sit to allow all the attacking players to do their thing. Not many teams play with as many forwards/wingers/number 10s as us.

Watford played Boreham Wood, Barnet, Hansa from the German third tier, and Fiorentina. That would appear weaker than our pre season. I think people are reading too much into a couple of individual errors. We had enough chances to win on Sunday.

Sell ons are normally a percentage of profit, so if we sell for less than we paid I don't think we'd owe city anything. I still can't see why we'd sell him for less than £25m though

From what I've read, the basic rule is that the name and number need to be easily readable. If you have stripes, you either need a plain back or you stick a square on the back. The exception to this is if the two colours of your stripes are similar in the colour spectrum, and they have ways of measuring this. I think this is why Bournemouth wouldn't need a plain back, as the contrast between a dark red and black isn't too bad. Blue and black stripes would be the same. Some clubs get round this by having a different kit for the players and supporters, but I suspect this gets quite complicated as a lot of fans want names and numbers on their shirts

We mainly play 4-2-3-1, so we've already got 4 players attacking. Anything we get from the 2 holding midfielders is a nice bonus. Jander did get a couple of goals last season, and as others have said he contributed a lot by winning the ball and triggering attacks. His tackling ability is fantastic.
