It is very sad news, loads of breweries are going bust at the minute. I was in there before the match on Saturday and there was no indication that they were about to fold. Agree with the point about getting their beers into St Mary's, would have made a lot of sense. Other clubs do it and it would have really raised their profile. I'd probably go to Olaf's Tun before matches if it wasn't for the fact that their licence doesn't allow under 18s on the premises. I'm going to have to rethink my matchday routine.

Why not just have a protest outside the stadium tomorrow evening?

An EXCLUSIVE story on something that Saints looked into over a year ago?! 😂 I liked the Athletic when it first came over here, and have subscribed for a few years. Didn't bother at renewal time over Christmas as I feel it has gone downhill. They made a big thing of the fact they don't indulge in gossip, but have continually moved in that direction. Also, no surprise but the big clubs get more and more reporters (the two Manchester clubs must have 5 or 6 combined), their own podcasts etc. There's little value in it for fans of smaller clubs.

I'm guessing he means the idiot fans who didn't even realise the semi was two legged, and were having a go at the players for not bombing forward with 10 men in the last few minutes on Tuesday. Even after the match, plenty of people walking away from the ground were oblivious
-
You literally posted this at the same minute he was named on our bench. Could you not have waited 60 seconds? 😂

One more win would have kept us up that season. I'm amazed how many people seem to have given up, our position is nowhere near as bad as is made out on here.
-
If we thought they were worth more, that just backs up my point. It's very easy to spend £30m on a striker and for them to be an absolute waste of space.
-
I'd love us to score more goals, obviously. But we paid around £15m for each of Adams and Armstrong, and something like £12m for Mara. They weren't bargain basement signings, and I'm sure we would have scouted them thoroughly and thought they would score more than they have. If we've got it wrong 3 times in a row (and a couple more high profile ones in the past), I'm not convinced that we'll easily be able to sign anyone better this time.
-
Well we signed those 3, and you obviously think they aren't good enough. I'm guessing we hoped for more from all 3 which suggests that it is actually quite difficult.
-
Who of course also isn't a centre forward, but people seem to ignore that. Not saying that's what you are doing btw.

He looks like he could win us lots of free kicks around the box..... ⛳🏌️

Yep, not the first time this season JWP has put our players under pressure with a stupid 'safe' pass backwards when he had an opportunity to play forwards.
-
You know they lost against Charlton last week, don't you?
-
De Zerbi took over a team that was flying, 4th in the league, and didn't win for something like 6 matches.
-
They've still only got something like 23 players for their 25 man squad even after all these signings.
-
And Tete last January, that was meant to be a done deal for this summer and then it went quiet. If it doesn't happen today it won't happen at all.
-
Yeah I'm surprised they haven't got Unity involved in particular

Was Wright's argument not more around whether football is offered to girls in school? Most schools don't have girls football in PE, partly because the female games teachers don't have a football background.
-
They've announced today that all of the league fixtures will be at at St Marys (I think with the caveat that if St Mary's is double booked they might play at Totton).
-
Charlotte played Chelsea and drew 1-1
-
They used to do that, but it caused issues when sponsors/kit manufacturers changed. You could put a new sponsor on an old shirt, but the sponsors don't like that.
-
They announced at least one of them when they did the retained list. McCarthy I think. Presumably Stephens already had a contract that went past this summer.
-
Remember this is voted for by their fellow professionals though. That includes people down in league 2 who might not even watch much premier league football. Plus if they support a team, it's far more likely to be Liverpool than City so there may be some bias there. To add to that, they vote quite early in the season (so before Salah's form dropped off). Basically it's just a team of famous players that people have heard of.

Athletic article re: Sports betting companies inc Saints
Scummer replied to manji's topic in The Saints
Crystal Palace have announced their new sponsor today, moving away from gambling to Cinch. Car sales companies are taking over the sponsorship world. Won't be long until be change sponsor I wouldn't have thought. Gambling/ crypto is on the way out.
