If you are going to loan out for a season, a 3 year contract is the first duration that makes sense. One year world be totally pointless, two years and they return with only a year remaining and you're back in Ings/Vestergaard territory. 3 years is the minimum to give you any security

When you play a lower league team they are often up for it at the start. Their boyish excitement at playing a big team fades after a while and that's when quality tells. Was similar when we played plucky Portsmouth last season.

I'm not so sure he's playing well at the moment. As people have said, his first instinct always seems to be to go backwards, often passing the ball straight back to where it came from. And as good as his first touch was for the second goal on Thursday, surely the second touch was actually pretty rubbish? He played it into an area with several Arsenal players and none of ours. It was pure good fortune/awful defending that saw it find it's way through to Tadic.

I was just pointing out that Swansea had their own helping hand along the way. I don't personally think we've done anything overly exceptional. We're doing very well, yes, but clearly it would never have happened without the backing of the Liebherr's.

You do realise their stadium was built by Swansea Council, who still own it, don't you? I guess not having to outlay £30m yourselves to build a ground is quite helpful.
