I'd agree with what you are saying if the planning application was for a change of use, or an increase in usage. However it isn't. The use of the site will be exactly the same, the amount of traffic will be the same, all that is changing is a building. Which is why their objection has no validity. You can't complain about something which already happens/exists. That's not the way the process works.
