So now the Echo are saying that we haven't even applied for a work permit yet?

Murdoch's News Corp to start charging for Times and Sun websites
Scummer replied to TopGun's topic in The Lounge
There's a difference between being an active contributor to a site (which is just about worth paying for), and simply reading one (which isn't). Maybe that's it, Murdoch is going to get his subscribers to write the articles as well. -
I've heard that as well.

Murdoch's News Corp to start charging for Times and Sun websites

Didn't people already try to charge for news websites in the early days of the internet? It didn't work then, and I don't see why it will work now. People will just look at the free sites. -
I don't think we need a railway station. Southampton Central is only a 15 minute walk, and there are free buses from the station to the ground anyway. A station would cost an absolute fortune and cause a lot of logistical problems around existing train services, just to be used by a couple of thousand people 20 odd times a year.

You wouldn't want a half-human half-cucumber baby.

My dad and I have got season tickets, but he's away this Saturday so my brother in law wants to come. Problem is my dad is a senior, brother in law isn't. Can the season ticket be upgraded for a game, or are they not too bothered if it's used by someone too young occasionally?

Wow, from what i'd seen he looked guilty as hell.

Watched Oldboy a couple of weeks ago, the fight scene in the corridor was great.

They were talking about Alguersuari on 5Live this morning. Apparently a lot of people are worried about the safety of having him around, as he's never driven a formula 1 car round a corner before. He's only been in a straight line. Lewis Hamilton apparently says that it took him a week of intensive practice before he started to feel comfortable in an F1 car.

I wonder what sort of system T&T play, because he's scored tons of goals for them. They definitely don't have Saga playing for them.
-
The back page of the Portsmouth News is dedicated to him today. Seriously.
-
Unless they've changed the rules, that's for players moving to another country isn't it? England to England transfers can only be done once the contract expires. So players have only been available for 3 weeks.

I've tried drinking in the Bridge, but prefer to be a bit closer to the ground.
-
Why do I know the name David Bick? Seem to have heard it before.
-
Thousands of people come over the bridge from Woolston each game. Between the Itchen Bridge and the ground there's only one pub, the Chapel Arms which has gone well downhill and is always full of away fans nowadays. Also the shuttle bus over the bridge takes you straight to the ground now as well, which means you'd have to walk back 5 minutes to go to the pub. If there was somewhere decent at the ground I'd use it. I really don't like drinking in the concourse though.

If only it was that simple DD. Smoke can't be contained that easily. Did you ever sit near one of those booths they had at airports which were supposed to extract the smoke? It still stunk, and that was a pretty high tech solution. We used to have smoking rooms at work, and if you went anywhere near them you smelt it. How long has the ban been going, 3 years or so? And they haven't turned the rooms into anything else as they are ingrained with smoke.

Depending on where you sit, the renewal price is hardly any different to the normal price anyway.

Missing the rest of the Ashes series. Guess that means he won't be playing for Hampshire at all this year then.
-
If you are going to most of the games, a season ticket is much cheaper than paying by the game. You get something like 9 games free. And the pair prices to add a child are great, I got my 7 year old nephew a season ticket for free.

I'd take a guess that on page 18 of Private Eye issue 1241, something Illingsworth said has been printed in their Colemanballs column. Named after the sports commentator David Coleman, who used to put his foot in his mouth on a regular basis. I'm guessing it's the comment about people saying Wotte is Dutch?

That was Sundance Beast wasn't it? Not Nineteen Canteen? 19C only joined the forum in January and it was longer ago than that.

Still, at least it was 4-4-2 with two proper wide men, eh.

Ok fair enough. I always thought he had quite a good record as a youth coach. We've brought a lot of good young players through during his time at the club, that can't all be despite him. We've seen before that decent coaches can be awful as managers, but I didn't see anything on Saturday which made me think he should be sacked.
