Wouldn't they have needed to site it a little distance away so it didn't get knocked over/covered in dust when their spaceship took off?
Also you are talking about 200 metres as if it's a 10 mile trek. That's no distance at all. Maybe that was the closest flat spot they could find?
Would be interesting to hear what the Southend fans thought of him, as he played quite a lot of games for them last season and they were a decent league 1 team.
Edit: Impression I get from this is that they rated him http://www.shrimperzone.com/vb/showthread.php?t=51102
What was the story with him going to Reading last season? Seems strange that a player would suddenly go on loan to a top championship team and play half a dozen games at the end of the season, including the playoffs. Did they have an injury crisis or something?
Agree 100%. We did fine when we had a stronger team on the pitch, and faded when we made loads of subs. Not the first time that's ever happened, and it won't be the last.
It was a pre season exhibition match, no point over analysing it.
I thought he looked pretty good. Would be a strong addition, as much for his leadership as anything as that's an area where we really struggled last year.
They are good fans as well to be fair, who have had season tickets for years and been going since we were kids (20+) years. I think i know at least half a dozen who have ditched their season tickets this year.
That's true, but the Pompey fans don't rate him at all. They weren't keen on the style of football.
A lot of my friends have given up their season tickets this year, due to a combination of high prices and poor home entertainment for the past couple of years.
