If Ralph thinks we've got enough at RB without Cedric then I trust him, we've got Valery, Ramsey and Stephens that can play there. Though I'm a fan of Cedric, if he's not going to be in the long-term planning it makes sense to sell high in winter and buy cheaper in summer.

Christ, imagine being 4 points clear at the top of the table and booing your team off. Sent from my Mi MIX 2S using Tapatalk

Come on, he's a Saint in an international tournament. He'll be home with a season-ending injury within the week...

Puncheon could be a great signing for Huddersfield, though can't imagine he's cheap. Hope there's a relegation clause in his contract for their sake.

Derby v Saints (FA Cup - 3rd Round) Build Up and match thread

This is going to be a very odd game, best wishes to the fans travelling up for this - we're both going to play a second-string side and they've got a stand closed. Would be a good opportunity to get Bertrand 20 mins off the bench if he is nearing recovery? Also would love to see Gallagher if he's back. -
I think Cedric is taking the next free kick.
-
Burnley vs Huddersfield kicks off at the same time as us tonight, massive game - can they both please lose? Maybe a 0-0 draw with both teams getting two players sent off?
-
£24m to sack him apparently. Mark Hughes is available...
-
Targett had a great game today, I don't think Bertrand will be waltzing into the team as soon as he's available again...

Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often

Excellent performance from pretty much everyone, couple of dodgy moments at the back but honestly fewer than we are used to. This will do the world of good for players' confidence and also their belief in Ralph's new system. Looking forward to Huddersfield already! COYS! -
No Lemina in the squad. Tyreke Johnson on the bench - don't know anything about him personally. Only 1 CB for Arsenal, looks like Lichtsteiner will be the other CB alongside Koscielny - still think we'll get smashed but we might be able to get a goal past them.
-
He just needs to make sure he keeps up with his shaving routine. Bald Oriol = Best Oriol.

Wondering is Super Kelv will be inclined to give the youth more of a chance, I don't think anybody is really expecting to see us get anything out of this game - a chance for Gallagher perhaps (or is he injured)? Vertonghen is suspended and Foyth has been fairly shocking the times I've watched him (including vs Arsenal), there's definitely errors in their team and we could get a goal or two. Still, can't see us shipping less than 3 goals.

It's always Palace.

Is Ings definitely out?
-
About time. The biggest criticism of VAR is usually that decisions take too long. I would happily have a 2 minute delay if it means 3 points instead of 1 against Watford, or if it means Gabbi's goal stands in a cup final. Things will get better as refs become more practiced with the tech.

I've been a staunch backer of JWP on here for the last couple of years but he has been utterly turd all this season. Needs to step his game up or get out.
-
Judging by that pirouette, Hoedt's confidence hasn't been knocked by last week
-
Cardiff win, Huddersfield and Newcastle winning... we really need to beat Watford and hope Bournemouth can get back in it against Newcastle.
-
Never in doubt! Bizarre to do the shootout with two subs left and JWP on the bench.
-
That was our first game playing 3 at the back wasn't it? And it went so poorly that we didn't touch it again for about 3 months?
-
Would get JWP on for Moi to get some protection down the right, Cedric has clearly been marked as a weakness to exploit.
-
Hope everybody knows Southgate is watching. Redmond, Ings, Bertrand should all be wanting to give it 110% for him tonight. Only Redmond delivering so far.
-
Hope our CBs wise up to Murray's pressing pretty quickly, Vest spending too long with the ball. Other than that Brighton have done nothing, we look pretty good. So we'll lose 0-1.

Mentioned in this BBC article as having the second highest save percentage in the league so far - behind Alisson and ahead of Lloris.
