Would be gutted for Bertie, he's been the best English LB in the league again (Rose was pretty naff for most of those 10 games he played), can't see him sticking with us next season if he's losing his England place.
-
Supposedly they're getting rid because he wants £180k a week... so no.

Well up for the world cup this year, suspect England will screw up the groups but I always enjoy tournaments more once we've gone out anyway! The final is the day after my wedding so we're having loads of people round for the final before we head off on honeymoon I reckon France have the best shot at winning the thing.

Probably because Hoedt was playing him onside.

My phone says City scored? Not come through on stream yet.

In all the emotion, can someone clarify the maths for me?

A 9-goal-swing would put us on the same GD as Swansea. The next deciding factor would be total goals scored - we've scored 37, they've scored 27. Worst case 9-goal-swing scenario for us would be losing 1-0 to City and Swansea winning 8-0 vs Stoke, which would put them equal on points (both 36) and goal difference (both -19), but they'd still be behind us on goals scored (our 37 vs their 35). So, 10-goal-swing is needed for us to go down. -
So good to have a keeper that can command his area, he's made a massive difference to the side and deserves to stay as #1. I would say sell Forster but some muppet gave him a new massive contract when everybody else could see how poor he was. I reckon one England goalie injury and Alex may find himself on the plane!

That's gotta add £5m onto Cedric's price tag! GTFI, bring it home Saints!

We're all over them. Definite 1-0 home win then.

So good to see Tadic shooting when he gets into good positions, no way would he have shot in that position for the second goal earlier in the season. Hughes has clearly told him to shoot more, great to see rather than a pass to our ineffective strikers. McCarthy outstanding too. As for the guy with the vlog, Jesus some people on here are getting seriously worked up over something that doesn't affect them. There's clearly some kind of audience for it if it pays for his ticket and travel, and let's face it, most of us on here are old farts and not the target audience. You're no more entitled to enjoy the game "your way" than he is doing it his way. Would absolutely love it if we escape the drop and West Ham get dragged into it. Can't see Huddersfield getting any more points, hopefully we can beat Swansea (no Siggurdsson to sucker punch us - waiting for Everton for that) and we can strengthen for another season at the top next year. Is this Tadic on the left Redmond on the right?

Accidental or not, appeals or not, it's a penalty. Intent only matters with handballs. Video refs review every case whether or not players/the ref asks for it to be reviewed, they looked at this and gave the ref a word in his ear.

Really enjoying how many of our "hoof!"s are actually great long balls. Not surprised to see Redmond on, obviously none of us are cut out to be managers because ours consistently keep putting Tadic on the right and Redmond on the left. Would have preferred Sims on for Boufal to play on the right with Tadic on the left. Looking good, keep pushing and we'll win. Sent from my ZTE A2017U using Tapatalk

Huddersfield - Palace is a massive game for us. Can they both lose please?

Saints U23s v Leicester U23s Match Thread (KO 7pm this evening)

Any positives from anybody who watched? How did Jones do? -
Odd squad. Tarkowski, Gomez, Pope are unfashionable but well-deserved choices. But he's kept Hart, Henderson, Livermore? Called Welbeck up again? Can't say I was expecting anybody else from Saints called up, JWP probably the next closest to the squad but that would require dropping some of the godawful midfielders Southgate has gone with (Henderson, Livermore, Wilshire to an extent).

Official Twitter confirms it's a deal until the end of the season. Can't be any worse than Pellegrino. Behind him all the way (to the Championship).
-
Agree with most of the people on here about the line-up - Lemina-Hoj midfield, Tadic-Gabbi-Carillo-Sims front line. We need to out-score them, Shaqiri is on a good run of scoring-from-outside-the-box which we never close down properly, and Crouch will score if he plays. Praying that Long is still injured. If somebody could hobble Redmond too that would be great. 2-2 prediction.

Officially crowned second biggest and best club in the country... for violent disorder arrests.

£5m for the city, not just the football club!
-
Hahaha all the Liverpool fans/manager crying about the second penalty... not sure how kicking a player without getting the ball isn't a foul anywhere else on the pitch?
-
No idea how he can put Stephens in the team of the week, he was entirely at fault for their first goal. But of course, Crooks only watches match of the day and chooses defenders based on whether or not they scored a goal. Also he can f.uck right off after what he writes about Lemina.
-
Not feeling at all confident, and I'm not sure anybody who's seen many of our matches this season would be either. Play well first half, go 1-0 or 2-0 up, then play defensively for half a game for no good reason. Brighton must have one of the worst strike forces in the league (apart from maybe ours!) and yet even they will score if/when we keep inviting pressure.
-
Biggest difference for me is that he's now regularly getting into goal-scoring positions when we're attacking, always in and around the box. Good player and deserves a place in the starting XI (though realistically, who's the alternative on the right? Redmond?).
