Realistically we were never going to get a CL spot with only one striker in the squad and no proper cover for Forster. The striker situation was difficult because Rodriguez was expected back way sooner so we couldn't really splash out on someone else. The keeper situation is inexcusable tbh, but it's the only major mistake in a ridiculously successful season. If we're not in CL, the only goal has to be to keep improving every season and we've clearly done that, so I don't really give a fuk about these last few games. We did so well this season because the team had a point to prove, they've proven it now they don't give a sh#t.

By the sounds of it Gazzaniga and Davis are being slammed for every goal conceded as well, so there doesn't appear to be any bias at least. He's obviously not League One standard, but he's a mid table keeper at best. If you replaced Pelle with Gallagher it'd obviously make Pelle look better then he is, despite still being not very good.

It benefits no one other then the papers and is disrespectful to their current employer. We won't miss any of them anyway as long as we get a good fee, Lallana was our most important player, winning every award going last season and we're now better without him

The club need a blanket rule that they fine anyone who speaks to the press without the clubs prior consent. Its hugely unprofessional and the club are bending over and taking it

Mane's class, Tadic is just as good though imo. Tadic, Mane and Ramirez would be the GOAT creative midfield if they all played to the best of their ability. Unfortunately they dont. Pelle on the other hand is fuking useless.

Who are two completely different types are striker? None of Austin, Benteke and Rhodes above are, obviously there's differences in all players games but you're trying to scrape together an argument that doesn't exist. They're all big strong target men who would fit well in Pelle's role, Rhode's slightly less so hence him being a squad player. And yes that would make Pelle a squad player, I said he's not good enough for our starting 11 so I think that should be exactly our aim. Ings and Hernandez would both be handy squad players in that they'd give us a different option upfront, like Long does, but wouldn't fit into our starting 11.

Pelle is fuking sh*te and isn't good enough for a top half Prem team. He's only played so much because we didn't sign another striker because we expected Jay back sooner. He's easily the worst player in our starting 11. Our current strike force doesn't meet the quality of the rest of the club and has cost us a CL spot. Ings would be ideal as a squad player but we'll struggle upfront if we sign him as a first choice rather than backup.

We're a top 6 club, top 8 at worst. Ings isn't good enough to be a regular for any top half club. He's barely good enough to make our bench. We can easily sign Austin so we'd have Pelle, Austin, Rodriguez, Mane and Long as options upfront. Where would Ings fit in?

He's not good enough for our starting 11 so he's deluding himself if he's talking about us.

Will Hughes would still be a perfect signing for us. Really can't understand how we've not been linked with him.
