  1. 1-0, Rickie to miss a penalty, Lovren to score an OG and then have his season ended by a wanyama tackle.
  2. My apologies if already covered, i haven't checked -- but: Ronnie has been pretty set in a 4-3-3 in pre-season, hasn't he? Assuming the way you've set out your lineup means you think we'll be 4-2-5-1 as per last season but i'm not sure that will be the case. For me, based on the Bayer Leverkusen game and the signing of Forster, it will probably be: Forster Clyne-Fonte-Yoshida-Bertrand Davis - Wanyama - JWP Gaston - Pelle - Tadic now, unsure exactly of which exact position within that lineup will be, and gaston could swap out for taider but I reckon we can at least expect the same formation as we've seen all preseason. Personally I'd like to see Cork in the midfield 3, probably at the expense of JWP. That said, I'd also like to see what JWP has to offer as part of the attacking 3. Time and form will tell!
  3. well I certainly didn't expect to be posting this on a Saintsweb forum but for what it's worth "a taste of honey" also provided the line "it's my life to ruin my own way" on Morrissey's Maladjusted single, Alma Matters... although strictly speaking the line in the play was "wreck", not "ruin"... I'm doing Modern Drama as one of my subjects in my final year at uni, and I think for the first time in my life I have combined my studies, my love of Saints and my taste in music in a single post! PS I bumped into Les Reed in the Men's Room at St Mary's and he reckons Gardos is a huge Smiths fan, and that's part of the reason he wants to come to the UK PPS Not really
  4. If there's a positive to be had, it's that Ralph has finally pulled his thumb out and can now concentrate on bringing some players in.
  5. Always impressed with Jose interviews - well spoken, interesting, forthright. Combined with his proven capacity to learn, take on ideas and improve, he's got future manager written all over him.
  6. I do seem to recall comments from Jack a few weeks after MoPo arrived and he'd been left out saying that he wasn't sure of hi standing because they hadn't spoken to each other.... Very strange considering he trained with the first team! Maybe someone with a better memory can clarify this... As an aside, if Morgs does leave (which I don't think he will) it may prove to bring the best out of Cork ... He had to focus on ball-winning rather than ball-playing as he deferred to the Frenchman, so maybe they'll gel together.

    Captaincy

Hello all, been reading your posts in silence for about a year now and thought I'd pop something up for a change! Now that Lallana's declined the offer to have a stand at St Mary's name after him post-retirement, it occurred to me that we need a new skipper. If it was up to me I'd double Morgan's wages and make him captain for the foreseeable future. I know that the captaincy is largely just a title but the announcement would be a long-awaited piece of good news and intent. Failing that, it's a pretty tough decision! Probably Jose would be my next bet. Seems genuinely satisfied and dedicated to the club. What does everyone think?
