imo, what the best solution for a cup game would be- is to purely give season ticket holders a chance to buy their seats (say, e.g., for two days), give the next two/three days to those who have a membership, and if there are still seats left after that, let them go to general sale.

Hmm, that is a shout. As good as that 8-0, and other wins where we played at full intensity for 90 minutes, maybe grinding out 1-0/2-0 wins are better in the long run. It's about results to me more than a performance.

Well an away allocation might not sell out for starters, secondly, I believe when we declare games as 'sold out', usually there is hospitality remaining, and finally, I may be wrong on this, but since our PL return, haven't we had a couple hundred seats removed in order to facilitate PL requirements? that's really all i can think of.
