Dunno but I suspect the two fellas sitting near me who wouldn't stop complaining about him for the first 20 minutes, slagging him off every time he touched the ball. They stopped complaining after about half an hour though. I think even they realised they were talking ****. That was certainly a £12m performance from Long tonight. Thought he was superb and Targett had a great game too. If Mane could hit a cows arse with banjo we'd have won that by about 5 or 6.

Gotta chuckle at this comment. They seem to think that the world owes them rather than the other way around. "After Hillsborough and as a direct result of the Taylor report every football club in the land had the opportunity to improve their grounds with a large proportion of the cost being covered by a central fund which I believe was under the Football Association. Most clubs redeveloped their grounds and quite a few demolished and started afresh with complete new stadia. Some of the wiser owners within the game took advantage of this and have made massive profits off the back of their increased capacity to date. Other's like ourselves either had owners who didn't want to spend or who lacked the vision to see the bigger picture and as result ended up with their dilapidated grounds.* Now although the fund closed many years ago, I still believe that the Football Association have an obligation, if only a moral obligation towards those clubs they didn't receive help from the fund. If the club was to kick up a stink with regards to how it is that West Ham can gain a brand new stadium for a mere pittance and that this whole saga should be taken to the courts as they are gaining an unfair advantage over every other club in the land, I would have thought that the FA might well look favourably upon helping clubs... if only to draw the attention away from the Olympic Stadium Legacy committee. Football in this country is awash with money, money that we have paid into the coffers... why shouldn't we get some back. Maybe this would be a great PR exercise for the FA to be helping clubs like ourselves and others who choose to Fan Ownership as a option rather than administration. Just a thought!"

We'll not be relegated and Ron will be here until the end of next season. It's not a great season but we'll not be going down.

I think you could quite easily turn that around to explain why he was sacked : It's not important when you [think] you're more important than the players. It's not important when you [think] you're bigger than the players. It's not important when you're the best at your job. He seems to have this care free attitude when it comes to football. Do what he wants, hold the club to ransom, disrespect his players and staff, and their clubs and if they don't get their way they manage like they cbf. He's better than all of the players, but its easier to be narrow minded and just sack him. Interesting that the club didn't put up a defence against the employment tribunal today. If they couldn't defend it, they should have had the balls to tell Mourinho to shut the **** up and apologise asap.

Worst starting 11 so far according to Who Scored

And if you played Bertrand at centre back, he'd be in there too. -
Hi Coxford Lou Thanks for your response. Interesting read and clearly you know far more about STW than I do. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not too familiar with them but their objective of stopping war seems like a good idea to me however from what you say, there may be more to it than that. I too cannot quite make out Corbyn. I'm surprised at the support he gets tbh, but, as I'm a chap that likes a fair fight, all I ever seem to read are warped stories about him that are normally highly exaggerated and the more they're repeated, the truer they become to those that are easily led. I just like to try and redress the balance. It's a depressing situation that the labour party don't seem to have anyone in the party that's a stand out leader so I think we're stuck with JC for a while although as I say, he does seem to be getting a fair amount of support. Whether that's spin or true again I'm not sure, we'll have to wait and see. I understand your point about the Ipad, I use a tablet too and it took me ages to type my last reply. ?

It's a 'Jeremy Corbyn' titled thread and the quote you were replying to did quote JC so by implication your comments were a reflection on him. See, told ya! I'm not to familiar with the organisation to be honest but I suspect the soundbites that you've quoted are not credited to the STW group as whole but to some individuals associated with it. Every group that is passionate about its cause has a few 'bad apples' or people with extreme views but that doesn't mean that everyone that supports the aims of those organisations shares their individual viewpoint. I notice that Caroline Lucas was a member until very recently and she doesn't strike me as being someone you would describe as being 'as ugly as they come', but then again I guess that doesn't fit the Corbyn bashing agenda does it? In fact here's some very recent quotes from her: "Jeremy and I have worked together for years and will continue to do so. I have huge respect for him*and we share a commitment to waging peace." "I stepped down as a patron of Stop the War almost a month ago and of my own volition*– not this week as some have reported, nor under any duress. And I did so without any fanfare because*I did not want to cause damage to an organisation with whom I have worked productively for over a decade, and which has played a vital role in the peace movement." Doesn't sound very scary. "The phone hasn't stopped ringing since and all because some want to use the story to attack the left and, in particular, Jeremy Corbyn." The final quote sort of confirms my point really. I guess at the end of the day everyone will make their own minds up, whether that's through believing the right wing red tops or by doing their own research but I think it's a bit rich to suggest JC is some sort of terrorist sympathiser for being a member of a group wanting to stop wars! We'll this is the quote that I found most unbelievable. I added a short list of despots to my earlier comment who are responsible for the deaths and torture of many many people yet you seem to think that a few people who have dared to express an unsavoury opinion (although I suspect that some of their quotes have been taken out of context) are the more 'ugly'. It beggars belief and just reinforces how distorted the arguments about JC have become.

And of course it would be impossible for us to come up with a list of dodgy people that Cameron had shaken the hand of and welcomed into this country with open arms wouldn't it? Although I suspect if that were possible, you might find that those individuals have been responsible for the death of many many more innocent people than the no-names mentioned above from the stw bunch. For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not one of the stw bunch but the amount of one sided tosh spouted about Corbyn on here is unbelievable. Here's a few of Cameron's mates to get you started. I'm sure you can come up with your own. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/oct/31/why-is-david-cameron-welcoming-egypt-autocrat-president-sisi-to-london http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-3280212/David-Cameron-brings-dishonour-Britain-kowtowing-China-s-despots-says-one-PM-s-close-friends.html http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/politics/article4613933.ece

Cancel that... Just seen the post above so I'll try that link.

Thanks folks. Managed to find CTH Stadium so got to watch the second half. Now I seem to be having trouble finding the repo for Kodi. The previous link (http://repo.sportsmania.eu) doesn't seem to work anymore.

Where's Sportsmania gone? Just logged on and there's nothing there. No games on SN either!?
-
Well if it's any consolation, at least we're losing 2-0 to a team in the top tier of the Premier League and not losing 2-0 to a team in the middle of the 4th division as our friends down the road are. ?
-
I was there too. It was a great night but ultimately disappointing. I went on the coach and even though it was ages before we left the ground, there were plenty of home fans that had stayed behind to wave us off!

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
TwoPints replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Maybe get the view of the families of the hundreds of British servicemen who lost their lives fighting another unwinnable war in Afghanistan before you 'go in hard' with our troops? Yesterday was a tragic day for France, the French people and any right minded person in this world but many many more lives will be lost sending our troops in to fight an invisible enemy. If ISIS lose ground, they'll just, move elsewhere. There are plenty of despotic countries in this world to shelter them. -
Coincidentally I was talking to a Bournemouth fan yesterday who was complaining that the PA at SMS was too loud in the away end. I told him it's sh!t in the Chapel and he thought it was some sort of conspiracy to drown out the singing in the away end. That got me thinking that maybe there is just one big speaker that works in the stadium and that's the away end and the rest of us can just hear that one!

They could have slides going from the top of the stands to the concourse outside the ground. That'll speed things up and provide some last minute entertainment.

I must apologise in advance. Having said that I haven't left a game early since 2003, I do need to leave about 15 minutes early during the Stoke game as I'm going out that night and have to be in P****mouth of all places by 7pm via home first. I can provide a note from my mum if necessary. Talking of leaving early ... There are a group of 4 or 5 people in the middle of the row I sit in who leave 5 minutes early during every game and as there are a few of them it takes even longer for them to get past particularly when the front one always slows down to say goodbye to his mates that sit in the row behind. They don't even wait for a break in play. Bit annoying.

I only ever left a game early once. It was a 2-2 draw away at Fulham and I didn't get to see any of the goals! I'd had a few pints before the game and as the game was a bit crap, I headed off early at half time for a **** and as I got to the concourse I heard the cheer as Fulham scored. Back for the second half, I was in the ground when Svenssen scored an own goal but due to our position in the upper tier, I couldn't see the goal line so didn't see the goal! After that, depression set in due partly to the early beer consumption and the fact that we were 2 down and playing crap so I left early on the basis that I was going to a mates birthday party that evening so thought I might as well get there on time. As I left the ground I heard a cheer from the away end as Beattie scored and as I got to the station, I heard another cheer as we equalised on 90 minutes. I've never left a game early since. [emoji1]

Given BFSs preference for hoofing long balls and with some of the comments in the match thread about the size of our midfielders, to me it made sense to have the taller more robust Yoshida at right back. I thought he did well considering people expected him to be 'torn a new one' by Whatmore on the match thread when in fact he kept him out of the game for most of the match. It's horses for courses and with his display yesterday, I see no reason for him not to rotate with with Cedric when the boss thinks it's sensible to do so. I'd agree with VvD as MotM. Overall I thought we were very comfortable and unlucky not to have got one or two more. Same against Stoke in a couple of weeks and I'll be a very happy bunny.

Juanmi on for Mane

One if the many interesting facts popping up on CTH.

Yes. The ads and half time comments are in Thai but the commentary is English.

Ooh apparently JWP has been our third fastest player so far after Bertrand and Mane.
