I know that if I was in a team that currently had no manager and there were reports linking all our best players away then the first thing I would want to hear about and see to would be the kit! It's all well and good having a great squad around you and the prospect of a top manager coming in, but boy, I just want to know if I'd look good in the new kit, otherwise - I'm off!
-
Would love to see us try and pinch a few of these Mexican players - lots of good players in the squad, Peralta, Moreno, Vázquez, Peña, Herrera and then the obvious ones like Hernandez, Marquez and Dos Santos. Only problem with some of them is that they're unproven outside of Mexico (not a league I can say I follow closely....)
-
I must admit by the time he came on a was quite a few beers down, so don't remember that but would like to see it! haha If we had a player like Bernard, I think a lot of the guys on here would consider more his price tag than his actual performances! Well we'd better get a good manager and keep our best players then!
-
Bernard would be a great signing. He's looking for a move as well, and has pretty good stats for a winger - 40 goals in just under 150 games. (I am judging my assessment that he'd be a great signing purely because I signed him on FIFA last year and he was very good!) Not sure why we would want Olic. Had a good first 20 minutes but looked to tire quickly and was relentless in turning into trouble. Too many unnecessary skills that didn't pay off and I think he's too old for us to be interested.

¿qué?

Right you are. I'm getting my names mixed up. Was thinking of this article (which to save me a little bit of credibility here does mention Miller!) - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24537173 and the quote was about Thomas Donohoe : "So Donohoe wrote to his wife, Elizabeth, asking her to join him, and to bring a football, as well as their children." And as far as the spelling goes, I'm not sure there's too much in it really. Many words can be and are spelt differently at times, or colloquially - but as long as the reader can see that Brazil and Brasil are the same place there is no mass confusion at the substitution of one letter, then I'm not sure what the bother is!
-
I read a story on this once, which stated that Miller went to Brasil and after a time wrote home to his wife and asked her to join him, and to "Bring a football and the children." I was very pleased to see that he had his priorities right!
-
I'm hoping that the board rule out Greer Carson. Not only is she 20 years dead, but her team talks would be way too long and so the opposition could knock a couple of goals in while were still in the dressing room having the half time team talk.

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)

http://sports.nouvelobs.com/football/coupe-du-monde-2014/articles/ribery-ko-schneiderlin-ok-1064692/ "it is intended to compensate the coach, with its medical staff, who finally decided in deciding not take the person in his luggage." If he wasn't injured before, carrying this person in his luggage would definitely have done the trick! -

Amazing news! One of the best players in his position and a class act. Well deserved! -

Not on OS or Official Twitter (yet). Let's hope he can "overcome the package Clément Grenier", as the above linked website so nicely translates. -
http://www.thesportbible.com/articles/luke-shaw-does-this-for-an-england-supporter-after-the-game-against-ecuador Not really transfer rumour for Shaw, but a nice touch from him, and nice to hear how he reacted to seeing a Saints fan in the crowd last night.

What about when he ran the show at Aston Villa last year? Then again at Arsenal and Newcastle? Or his goal against West Ham last year? Or his free kick for Uruguay in the Olympics? What about his goal against Everton? Or when he was our most promising player vs West Ham away this year, Cardiff at home... What about his assist vs West Brom that no other player in our team could have done? What about every time he has just floated past players with no effort at all as if they weren't even there? No, I haven't either.
-
We don't even need to see a totally different Gaston, we just need to see a more consistent Gaston. The player is utterly class, and can do things with the ball that no one else in our team can (even Lallana!)
-
Haha that makes sense! Just like people who hadn't heard of Lovren initially moaned after there were a few semi-negative reports of his time at Lyon then... MP appears to be loved because of his close man management with the players but I can think of a few Saints fans I know that never warmed to him. I think the Fulham fans have really warmed to Magath so would be interesting to know if the players have too. Agree RE Rene Icantspellhissurnameeither, but that was a really odd appointment. Never looked like that one was going to work out!
-
I for one would be delighted if we got Magath, excellent track record in the Bundesliga (Including with Bayern Munich if I remember correctly) and was great at playing promising youngsters with Fulham last year. He is notorious for getting teams disciplined and in good physical shape, which our team already seems to be so wouldn't be so drastic a change for them. There were times when he looked like he might have saved Fulham last season, and if he had been appointed sooner then I am sure he would have kept them up. This is a manager who has won the Bundesliga with two clubs and has European winners medals as a player, can anyone on here tell me why he would be such a disastrous choice?
-
Could give us a time frame on the new kit then, isn't that usually announced before / worn in these pre season friendlies?
-
Thankfully? He is a great player in bad form, a bit like a certain CB we signed last summer!
-
Whatever happened to our supposed love affair with Damiao?

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/02062014-rickie-lambert-open-letter-1592317.aspx Club legend, the man exudes class. Extremely sad that we will never see him in a Southampton shirt again, but pleased for him to get his dream move. Big boots to fill.
-
This will likely change now though with a new manager inbound
-
agree with the above, retire it for the foreseeable...

Lambert would have been my biggest concern, unrivaled talisman and club legend. For me, was the heart and soul of our teem, to the point that even on his slower days I always felt more confident with him in the pitch. Having said that, our "must keeps" in my opinion are Morgan, one of the best players in his position that I can think of, total class. Wanyama, look so much stronger with him on the pitch. Rodriguez - 17 goals speaks for itself. Lovren and Fonte, for me at the minute it's not one or the other, we need both on the pitch, great partnership and solid defensively. Boruc. Lovable nutter who can win us points on his own. Davies, great work rate and underrated technically. Clyne or Chambers, both amazing right backs and age on their side. Preferably though, we'll keep Lallana, Shaw and fingers double and triple crossed - Saint Rickie Lambert.
-
Think he spent 8 or 9 weeks out injured and then got sent off to miss some more games

Just watched the 15 minute video (heres the link if it isn't already posted, I haven't read the thread - ) He has an amazing knack for answering a totally different question to the one asked of him. Some very promising phrases in there, but it is a wonder that he could talk for so long and say so little. Krueger would make a great member on Saintsweb, it would seem.
