  1. This! I think our expectations are too high atm. This first season is only going to be about survival and we cannot expect much to happen away from home. Its absolutely pie in the sky to expect anymore. To start calling for Adkins head every time we lose is a joke especially in this league. We need to get use to being dicked a few times especially away fom home. As far as I am concerned, as long as we win most of our home games and get the odd result away, enough for us to stay up, why dont we leave Adkins get to grips with the prem and learn by his mistakes and slowly put it right, he deserves time after what has acheived with us so far.
  2. Got to admit that when i checked the match thread on here at half time it sounded like our worse display ever and numerous heads were rolling including RL. Watched the game in full on Sky in the evening and although we were average in the first half we were no where near as bad as every one was making out on here. Get a grip people.
  3. Ramirez for me, only his second game and played like he had been with us a couple of seasons. Some of his touches were sublime and I recon this is just a taster of whats to come.
  4. Blimey, really nice comments there and I agree with their sentiment, it would be criminal to get rid of NA.
  5. They are playing quite well on Sky Sports atm
  6. Brilliant reult, season starts now, glad to hear Ramy had a great game, knew he would.
  7. Went with my cousin and his daughter who have Arsenal season tickets and managed to get a friend's season ticket who couldn't make it. I have been to the Emirates a few times and hate the place for its morgue like atmosphere and plastic fanbase. Like others, after the 4th goal I went and had a god awful pint but it was better than suffering our performance so missed our goal but caught it on the screens in the concourse. Spent £120 for the day all in all and felt humiliated as my cousin took great joy in rubbing salt into the wound especially when saying that that is the worst display he has seen by any opposing team at the Emirates.
  8. Agree with all of that. I was in the Arsenal end and you could tell straight away he is class and agree he is worth getting excited about. He may have sprayed a few loose balls but ffs he had one days training with us, is not aware of the type of runs or positions his team mates take up and is probably not 100% match fit due to not being played throughout the transfer debacle and was probably still jet lagged and was still our best player in the second half.
  9. Davis has been a great service to us and for that we thank him, but hopefully NA realises that being sentimental does not win games.
  10. He's carved in stone on yours
  11. I had to witness that display stuck in the middle of the Arsenal end. Although our defense was ****e to say the least too much of our play was breaking down in midfield and instantly putting pressure on our defense. MS was the main culprit. Yoshida looks good, comfortable on the ball and good passing for a CB, Ramirez is a great prospect and I am looking forward to seeing him add some much needed quality. All in all a terrible day and spent the last 20 mins outside having a ciggy rather than suffer more pain watching that.
  12. Well the positives, Ramirez looks class. Downside, we were woeful especially in the first half. They had us beat down both flanks easily. Need to sharpen up soon or we will quickly be from where we came. Good noise from our boys in the Pins.
  13. Yep, me too. If we score the gut instinct will be to loudly celebrate but the arse supporters whom I am going with have stateed that I am on my own if that happens!
  14. Not looking forward to being in the Arse end on saturday with my arse season ticket holder cousin, whats the nearest hospital to Arsenal?
  15. Having a Bolton fan knock me spark out all because I swatted a wasp that happened to be on the back of his kneck with my rolled up program, there is no pleasing anyone!
  16. I must admit that the red & white stripes were looking a bit tired and needed a complete revamp as we have done in the past, but to go to a kit that has none apart from barely visible white pinstripes seems a major c*ck up. I would like to know what their plans are for the future as I am confused as to why they would change the kit entirely for one season only and then to revert to the stripes again.
  17. Is it definately for one season only? Hope you are right! What was the point of it for one season only?
  18. When it was first unveiled I actually liked the new red kit. A few games in and I have done a total u-turn. I now think it is bland and uninspiring and I miss the stripes. Anyone else?
  19. Left us before they became the full biscuit, and apart from Bale who is absolutely world class Walcott has not lived up to his early promise and the jury is out on Chamberlain imo. As we do not have that sort of flair player in our ranks we have had to buy it in.
  20. I think that since we lost Le Tiss we have been lacking a player that has those special skills that can turn a game. How often did MLT save or even win a game by doing something absurdly genius with the ball. We need that something extra and in Ramirez hopefully we have found it. These type of players do not come cheap but hopefully we have found our MLT/Ronaldo to make all the difference. The outlay is a gamble but well worth it if it comes off as far as results and having a valuable asset is concerned.
  21. What a player this lad is going to be, I have been so impressed with the two games he has played aginst the toughest of opposition. Amazingly comfortable on the ball with no signs of panic and his work rate and distribution are up there as well. I've got to say that I am more excited about JWP than I was with Walcott and Chamberlain. For me very similar to Jack Wilshere.
  22. No I dont see that at all, what I did see is VP of Man U lasting the whole game and scoring a hatrick. Ok Lambert might of tired somewhat but AL and punch still seemed full of running and should have stayed as they were still a threat, you do see that don't you?
  23. Some on here defending the substitutions saying that they were tired which is why NA took them off. If that is the case why oh why are three of our best players not able to last 90 minutes and if they really need to be replaced is the likes of Guly, a new signing and a out of form out of position player going to keep us in the game?
  24. Have to agree with that, I have so much time for NA but the subs he made were outrageous to say the least. Why oh why remove our 3 best players from the game............major mistake!
  25. Well done boys, with the full compliment we will be ok, some strange sub choices though which is a bit worrying.
