The club have said in the past that selling players at a profit is policy. That's a fact. And yes players will leave for bigger clubs and more money, you cant stop that . But when the club assembles a group of players based on what they think they can sell them on for, rather than assembling a group of players to create an effective team you're going to run into problems, and we have.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'worked'. If you mean unearthed/developed exciting new players to he sold at profit to Liverpool you might be right. Maybe I'm alone in wanting a bit more. Leicester didn't win the premiership by being a feeder club.

So when we need new ideas because the last stratedgy failed, we're back to the Southampton Way.
