  1. I keep reading post saying "we've got one of the strongest squads in the league" , and similar. REALLY? Defensively it's not great, goalkeepers are questionable and defensive midfielders are thin on the ground. A Strong squad it is not. I'm calling it a 1-2 result tonight.
  2. We,ll score; they'll score more. Fact.
  3. Martin should be sacked tomorrow morning, if not sooner. But so should Wilcox who appointed Martin and our transfer strategy.
  4. I'm amazed how many think we've got the best squad in the Championship. Now I'm not up to speed with most other Championship squads but ours looks bang average to me. How many championship teams would Mara, Bazz, Bednarek etc etc walk into?
  5. I was at that game. My mate represented Southampton in a pub pie eating competition before the game and nearly got into a scrap with his Sunderland opponent on the stage. We won the pie eating competition.
  6. There is a steely professionalism to the England womens team, that is missing in the big moments from the men's team. I'm looking forward to the final and have every expectation England will win.
  7. We cant keep clean sheets, and we struggle to score goals. Probably 0-1, or 1-1 if we get lucky. (75% possession!!!)
  8. Done it. Hope it helps. The only time I've seen Saints at Oxford was around mid 80's I think on a boxing day. I ran a coach and managed to make a loss on the deal despite a full coach. Don't remember the score but do remember the financial hit ffs!
  9. Stats dont inspire much optimism, and with many managers with a proven track record in getting teams promoted from the Championship overlooked, I fear another Sport Republic cluster-fùck. I hope I'm wrong.
  10. Denmark or Serbia, nailed on.
  11. Unless it's traditional red &white stripes I'm going to be very moody.
  12. Rasmus Ankersen. He's very quickly being found out, and despite what many people think he's very sackable. (Rasmus is on the board but Dragan put in all the money and owns all the shares)
  13. He is a director but he owns no shares, nor has any equity in the business. The Sport Republic is 100% owned by Sport Republic Holdings which in turn is 100% owned by Dragan Solak. If Dragan Solak wants Rasmus Ankersen out, Rasmus Ankerson is out.
  14. Good news that Semmens is out. Also good news that Dragan Solak is on the board and thus, hopefully taking a greater interest. But personally I have zero faith in Rasmus Ankersen and the Kraft fella.
  15. I'm not so sympathetic to Selles, he has been a disaster and can't have expected any different. But the OP is right, there is a growing distance between club and supporters. It started under Nicky Cortese and has accelerated ever since. I don't think our club is unique in this problem, but it's a pity. It won't be long before the club moves its training base up to the top end of the M3 and players and staff will just turn up in Southampton once a fortnight for a game and they will be even more remote from the community.
  16. A lot of talk on this thread about possession football that Martin likes. It's worth pointing out Arsenal lost yesterday while having 82% possession. Just saying.
  17. Walk out at 70 mins.
  18. Ridiculous appointment if it happens. Sport Republic doing what Sport Republic do, fùck up the big decisions. Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be.
  19. This is a must win game !
  20. Dragan needs to ditch the chancers Ankerson and Kraft, or cap his loses and sell the club.
  21. "Southampton were a disgrace on Thursday, bearing mind they were at home and needed to win the game. I thought their performance was gutless and they offered so little in attack. The position Saints are in, I was expecting them to play with desperation and throw everything they could at Bournemouth. Instead, they looked like a team who had already been relegated. How on earth they got a point against Arsenal last week, I really don't know." Chris Sutton on BBC sport website. This is one reason we're going down.
  22. Do we have to? Can't we just concede and save everyone the trouble.

    Sport Republic

If I was Dragan Solak, I would ditch Semmens and Rasmus Ankersen. Neither are up to the job, and that's a demonstrable fact. He needs an experienced CEO and a respected Director of Football. Get those in place quickly and let them pick a new manager/ coaches etc.
