  1. Will we get another point this season? I doubt it.
  2. Close season we need a decent keeper and a decent striker. We've needed them for some time, but the collective clowns of SR and Jason Wilcox have repeatedly failed to deliver. Thank fuck at least one of those is out of the picture now.
  3. We don't have a snow flakes chance in hell of getting through the playoffs with these bottlers. My prediction is Norwich beat Leeds at Wembley FWIW.
  4. It will be the same story in the play-offs, 70% possession and lose 1-2.
  5. Seems a funny time to do a poll. If we get promoted then he should stay. If we fail to get promoted then he's not going to get us promoted next season with an inevitably weaker squad, so should be replaced. I voted no, as we have missed autos already and Leeds or Ipswich will beat us in the play-offs.
  6. If RM can't get us promoted this season with this squad, he ain't going to get us promoted next season with a what will almost certainly be a weaker squad. And with no D of F anymore to scout for new managing talent, Rasmus no doubt be in charge sprinkling his magic!!!
  7. 0-1 All momentum has gone. Roll on next season under new management.
  8. Not in the slightest be bothered. Made more screw ups the successes.
  9. Play offs it is then, and I don't have much hope there to be honest. At least next season we'll be shot of Che Adam's. Hopefully.

    Promotion

We've blown any chance of automatic promotion now. Chasing down two clubs at this stage of the season, isn't going to happen, especially since we've got to play all three clubs above us away, and non of them are playing each other again. So play-offs it is. FWIW I think we'll lose to Ipswich at Wembley. I wouldn't mind another season in the Championship, its much more fun the Prem , if you're winning.

    Catching Ipswich

We'll make Wembley, and lose there to Ipswich.
  12. Great player, proper commanding presence at the heart of our defence, and he was a much better manager than many gave him credit for at the time, me included. RIP big fella.
  13. Millwall were well organised,, but that's it. There is not a decent footballer amongst them. And apart from AArmstongs header second half we offered nothing. Poor, very very poor today. I think we're going to be in this league for another season at least.
  14. I pretty sure the first thing Russ does on a Saturday morning is read this thread to gauge the mood and pick up any pointers. So Russ, bin off the rotation bollox and play the best 11. (This does not include Manning) And if Millwall have picked up a few clues from Hull, tell Baz and the fullbacks it's ok to play it long occasionally.
  15. We were all upset by the result of the '84 semi final, but a fella on our coach to Highbury was beyond consoling and was eventually sectioned on the following Monday. There were existing and underlying mental health issues there before hand, but Adrian fucking Heath sealed it for the poor chap. N:B He made full and lasting recovery after a few months.
  16. First half v Huddersfield, Bristol City and now this. We've been found out. Press us hard and we break.
  17. I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for most handsome fan. (Just follow the scent of Hi-Karate aftershave to block 4 to check me out)
  18. No. Getting second is going to be a hard enough job.
  19. Huddersfield first half, and Bistol City last night have shown our vulnerabilities. Playing direct and mostly through the middle they got after us and managed 14 and 17 shots respectively, from only a third of the possession. We need to be a lot tighter in midfield. When's Downes back?
  20. A lot of similarities between how Huddersfield and Bristol took us on, its just that Bristol are a better team than Huddersfield. Very Direct, very quick getting forward. Both sides matched us for shots with less than a ⅓ of possession for most of the games. Has a blueprint for combating our possession football been found? Over to you Russ.
  21. I booed at half time, and cheered at full time. And my critique clearly worked. Thank me later 😎
  22. I can see the rationale for putting away support into a corner but why not just shift them a couple of blocks clockwise into the Northam/ Itchen corner? Less disruption all around.
  23. We have a home end, it's called the Chapel. All our more vocal support choose, with free will, to stand next to the away supporters. Once the away support is moved I would imagine those who choose to stand near the away supporters and ignore the 'home end' will continue to do so. And conversely those who enjoy the quite life in the Chapel and who don't want the potential hassle of being near the away support will probably move with their flasks to the Northam. Can someone explain to me why this arrangement might change? The safe standing is irrelevant as most people stand in the Northam now anyway. NB: From the mid seventies onwards our 'vocal support' was not found at the home end at the Dell, but under the West Stand and in the Archers Road end.

    Mel Blyth

The entire cup winning side of '76 were like gods to me growing up. To lose another is so sad. RIP Mel
  25. I think the clue is in the words "right now". I would suggest RM knows Mara isn't good enough, otherwise he would start him every week, but knows we're desperately short of strikers.
