Remember this from late last August? I didn't. Turns out that didnt happen (obviously). He ultimately went on loan to Nottingham Forest instead! (apparently). Apparently, i say because he didn't play a single minute for Forest and got shipped back to Rennes this winter. Rennes then shipped him out on loan to Sevilla this January. Sounds like we dodged a bullet.

Onu-achu! Onu-achu! God, Bless you Ohu-achu!

come on, man.. the shot was on target!

what is Charly's role exactly? i think that is the problem/issue. Is he partnering with Lavia in a defensive role? Is he an #8? Is he more of a Attacking Mid? a quasi #10? He has talent, that is obvious. NJ needs to put him in the right position with the proper formation, with a clearly defined role, if he is to succeed.

tough task to ask a previous Championship player to come in a week later and excel in a semifinal cup match away against a solid Newcastle team currently in 3rd place in the top tier. So yeah, the jury should still be out. Wasn't able to watch the game last night, does Bree have a good right cross? - we just bought a 6'-7" striker. Onuachu's highlight reel was about 50% headers, 25% penalties, and 25% awkward finishes on his foot. Onuachu! | Gesundheit! ** unrelated to the response: Oh, I can't help but think our season would feel completely different if we had been in for Pope and not Bazunu. Hindsight, 20/20, etc.

Is Danny Ings still our record signing at £20 million? 4 1/2 years ago.
-
well, that's no fun!

The blackpool player caught a bit of the Ches on that attempt!

You got £75m and £400k a week laying around?

Ziyech has always been a favorite of mine since he seemed to be Southampton's radar back in the Koeman years. His body language is terrible though; he always looks miserable.

looky there. We should put in a bid for that Boufal fella.

i think Hjulmand would be such a good buy, paired up with Lavia in the line-up. Really hope we pull the rabbit out of the hat and get him and a No. 10 Orsic, Alcaraz, Hjulmand, and a No 10 who has goals in him would be very satisfying business. one can dream **(i dont think Hjulmand's club wants to sell until summer though)

New Signings- How Will We Line Up?
SaintTex replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
should change the subject title to : New Signings - Will They Line Up? -
I feel like with this goal and the goal against Everton last week, he just like flies/lunges to the side, doesn't estimate it at all properly.. both balls seemed to fly by over his head, as his arms were outstretched to the side. frustratingly blockable.

this obsession with Broja on here is baffling: Che has a better goals to minutes ratio in all comps this season than Broja did last season with Saints. Broja : 2167 minutes | 8 goals : 1 goal every 270 minutes Che : 1606 minutes | 8 goals : 1 goal every 201 minutes I am not saying Broja isn't a good player, but he ain't some goal scoring machine savior.

We win against Villa with those results we are in 14th place. Nuts.
-
Broja should be ready for the pitch by Winter 2024. God willing.
-
we have plenty of Mystery Strikers on this team already.
-
might add Djed Spence (RB) to that. https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/edge-closer-brilliant-new-right-back-signing-southampton-eye-loan-conte-fall-guy

Ollie Watkins but, yeah, not a whole lot.

all I see are positives... from looking at those game highlights.. 1) he passes the ball and then moves immediately into space. He is not standing there and admiring his pass. 2) two good defensive plays. that second one where he heads it away.. that might have been on target for the back of the net. i didnt recognize it at the time (more likely i was pacing for the last 10 minutes and didn't see the play altogether!) 3) He moved quickly into the open space and dribbled it 50 yards... his pass was a bit speculative, but i like the aggressiveness and forward thinking. 4) i like how he was positioned himself to pounce on JWPs shot if it came off the opposing GK on a semi-related note, on JWP's future free kicks, if the opposing team move a man or two to cover the posts, the offside trap is negated. it's free reign for any of our players to get in a position for a rebound off the keeper/post. (We got burned on that one last year while we were defending a free kick late in a game by none other than JWP himself.. cant remember the game)

What is critically important with these 3 straight wins is NJ can point to the players during training and say “see, this is working”. The players will buy in, listen, and not tune him out. Everybody needs to be rowing in the same direction it is a cliche, but belief is a powerful thing in this league.

Saints win. Liverpool lose. Life is good.
