  1. Just 1 win can do it. Leicester out of the bottom 3.
  2. The ball went right between JWP’s legs on the pass into the box on that 3rd goal. Actually on that 3rd goal, it went between JWP’s first, then the shot went between Lycano’s legs, and then the rebounded shot went between ABK’s legs. brilliant.
  3. yes, and believe it or not, we have no goal threat at all with Che out. Let that sink in. (Adams out in the last 3 matches - 1 goal scored during that time)
  4. Glass half full… The three teams above us all lost. Glass half empty… the three teams above us all lost. what a wasted opportunity this weekend.
  5. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ i think that is that... 92% chance of going down.
  6. haha.. no kidding.. others around us are giving us plenty of opportunities to climb out of this hole, but we are not capable of taking advantage. feels like we have been 4 points away from safety for months now.. we'll probably end up 4 points off
  7. I doubt it. If anything, he was likely told the job is his if he keeps us up. but he is not up for it, and neither are the players.
  8. if Everton, Leicester, and Saints go down that has got to be some sort of record for the most collective consecutive seasons in the top tier for the 3 relegated teams.
  9. I swear, if Marsch pulls Leicester over the line, I am going to lose my shit. we had him, and haggled over stupid things.
  10. and yet we had 6 players on the pitch who were part of our transfer strategy: Bazuna, ABK. AMN, Lavia, Alcaraz, and Sulemana We have bought player after player after player (14 of them) and barely any of them have the look of a premiere league player or have made a positive impact. In fact, we have gotten worse.
  11. When is Che going to be fit? It’s a bit of a sad state of affairs, but we are really missing him on the pitch.
  12. Amazing how one result just changes dramatically things right now. IF we had beat West Ham, we would be in 18th and they would be in 20th. but West Ham is in 15th and we are 20th. i know... if, if, if.
  13. my optimism is dwindling, as we are a bit adrift, but the way the table is bunched up, i keep holding out hope. Leeds (currently in 13th place) is a great example of the crazy table movement that can happen with just 1 to 2 wins. Of course, you have to win to make this happen and this team doesn't appear to have it in them. I keep hoping something clicks and we'll go on this magical run, but i likely am being naive.
  14. Reflecting on today’s games and news….. 2015/16 Leicester 1st - PL champions / Champions League Southampton 6th - Europa League Newcastle 18th - Relegated
  15. well i don't know about since Christmas, but in the last 6 matches Saints have 8 points, none of the bottom 9 have gotten more, except for Bournemouth thanks today's results. so i tend to disagree, but yeah, our position as time goes is gets a bit more precarious to say the least.
  16. Che would be a big miss. He may not have the finishing touch, but he does stir the pot better than anyone else we have up front.
  17. yeah, but previous to last weekend... Leeds probability was like at 62% and they got 1 win, just 1.. and look what happened. the table is so tight just one win can turn that probability number greatly .
  18. some good memories there! thanks for the link.
  19. this right here. Mara in for Walcott at 60 min.
  20. as pessimistic as some of us are, there are 8 other team forums where their supporters are expressing the same pessimism - Discussing where the wins will come, how many points they need, speculating on losses of other clubs, etc? In a way, there a 9 boats in various stages of sinking, the question will be which 6 will find a way to stay afloat. 6 have to stay up - why not us? I have not given up hope yet.
  21. normally i would say we are done.. but the table is really unusual this year. we are 4 points from 12 place (it was 5 points a week ago, 6 points a week before that) the 9 clubs within 4 points of each other cant string 2 wins together, no one has really made a strong move our 6 match form is 8 points, which is 11th best, best of the 9 clubs. so we have made incremental progress the last 4 weeks - slowly, but it has happened. (of course, time may not be on our side if that progress remains only incremental)
  22. another week where it is clear cut to whom we want to lose. Forest vs. Newcastle Villa vs. Bournemouth Wolves vs. Leeds Brentford vs. Leicester Chelsea vs. Everton Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace A lot of away games for a relegation rivals this week
  23. I haven't been following the type of goals Tella has been scoring at Burnley. Is he creating a lot of his chances, or is he getting goals served to him on a golden platter? Because if it is the latter, he would not be pulling this current team out of the bottom 3.
  24. meh, home or away, quality of opponent or not.. normal advantages don't seem to apply to this team. Whether it is a home loss to Bournemouth or an away win against Arsenal - neither wouldn't particularly surprise me in this run-in. Inconsistency is our middle name. It's becoming increasingly clear we dont have enough rabbits to pull out of this hat we are in.
