Brighton have signed 5 impact players that for whatever reason are simply not within our reach (€30m to €45m each) Our 5 impact player signings are in the €8mil to €23m range. It's a huge gulf. (FFS, it's Brighton and it's a huge gulf - shaking my head) We knew we would be behind the 8 ball this season. It's going to take coaching, strategy, luck, and spirit (and not talent) to stay up this season and it remains to be seen if we will have any of it.

This. Always been surprised how low fees are for the GK position, as compared to others. Why do we choke on a £18mil fee for a GK, but not for CB (THB), DM (Downes), or F(Archer)?

i am of the opinion Baz is responsible for his own confidence. And at this point I am pretty damn convinced his confidence or his lack of confidence is not a factor that is going to put him over the edge to a quality PL GK.

Brighton is the new Southampton.. the pattern is very clear. they pushed and pushed to 6th, got European football.. but now..... they have faltered a bit, finishing mid table, made some bad purchases from sales of their top players, their manager is leaving for greener pastures, their supporters expectations are too high (which will create an environment of winter break panic buys to appease the angry fanbase), they will languish in the bottom half for 2 to 3 more years, go thru a couple of managers, and end up in the Championship in 2027. sound familiar? Book it. .

Nathan Tella has had a pretty incredible two years of football 2022-23 Burnley - only 5 losses in all competitions 2023-24 Southampton/Bayer Leverkusen - only 1 loss in all competitions (Gillingham - although i am not sure he even made the trip)
