Britain's Next Top Prime Minister - Labour Leadership Election 2020.

I really don’t know Wes, I am not well versed in making fun of religious dress. Perhaps Johnson could help? He seems to have an eye for denigrating people by the clothes they wear Bum boys in tank tops for example. -

Things don’t have to be at the same level not to be an issue. The leader of the Tory Party actually made Islamophobic comments. If Corbyn had made similar comments about Jewish attire what do you think the response would have been? -

Clive Lewis came across well on Question Time last night I thought. Can’t see him getting the job though. What threw me was Max Hastings. I always had him pegged as a cross between Duckie and Wes (without the 60’s terminology) but, in Duckie’s parlance, he is a proper pinko. Bigger up Tony Blair and said that he would have voted for him in the last election if he had stood. I know he has no time for Johnson, but that was quiet a shock coming from a former editor of the Telegraph. -
He did. But as we know, things are not always as they seem and can change very quickly.
-
I am with you to a certain point Duckie. The only thing is that if we were a Republic, Boris Johnson would be our head of state.

That would explain Leeds recent confidence in landing Che. He does need to play regularly. If we get a decent replacement it is a win win. If he comes good we have a quality striker for next season.

Yep Wes. It is a always best to ignore history. After all, it is not as if history ever repeats itself is it? -

They are useful reference points for those who repeat their opinions on social media. Keep a tally if it makes you feel better. I would be more worried about sharing their opinions. -

I am sure that we have a few people on here who moonlight for The Sun. I am not stamping my feet. I am also not sticking my head in the sand. I have agreed that there is a problem with anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. Even Corbyn agrees so I don’t know what your problem is there. It is also accepted that there is a problem with Islamophabia (which you strangely seem to believe doesn’t exist) and anti-semitism in the Tory Party. You can ignore if you like, it doesn’t mean to say that it doesn’t exist. -
It did have a good feel to it. If the results were still poor I am sure it would have been a very different atmosphere, but the responses did feel honest and unforced.
-
I am hoping that the whole full back thing is a smoke screen and the first player in will be a quality centre half. A few good results doesn’t alter the fact that we are desperately in need of one. Yes, we need cover in the FB positions but have managed for half a season and can probably get by. We know that Stephens can put in some good shifts but he lacks consistency. How long before he reverts to type?

Odd then that Johnson himself said that there would be a full investigation into Islamophobia in the Tory party. There is an issue with anti-Semitism within the Labour Party. There is an issue with Islamophobia and anti-semitism within the Tory Party. No amount of childish name calling will change that. Perhaps people would take you more seriously if you admitted the shortcomings within your own party and cut out the silly names and playground behaviour. -
You sound more like Donald Trump everyday. There were signs that you were becoming a decent person over Christmas but sadly the old hypo has reappeared. It was good while it lasted, but back to normal it seems.

I have never seen a letter box or a bank robber that looks like that. You claim that Islamophobia does not exist puts you on the same level as the holocaust deniers. Of course it exists. Little wonder that you support the likes of Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson. -
I bet the poor souls on the plane that was blown out of the sky are thankful the world is a safer place after the assassination.

It used to be that “facts were sacred” in journalism. Sources were checked a rechecked. If editors were unsure things would get spiked. It seems like social media has just watered everything down and brought publishing down to its own level. Still, it is not only the Echo. National newspapers have been known to run obits on famous people before they have died (long before social media came along). Shoddy work.

The Royals are a working family and it is not unreasonable for the tax payer to pay for their travel if they are working. I don’t see why we should pay for their holiday travel though. The whole financial thing needs to be reviewed and it is good to hear that Charles is already working on slimming down The Firm. The country has had to tighten its belt over the last decade. It shouldn’t have taken them so long to be seen to be more economically efficient too.

Including those who look like letter boxes and bank robbers? Come on hypo, you know full well that the Tories have a problem with Islamophobia (and anti-semitism) within their party. As we were saying earlier though, the right wing media did a great job in making anti-semitism in the Labour Party the issue and played down the same issues in the Tory Party. -
Spot on. There has long been a tradition of shooting the messenger. We have seen it recently with Greta. Too many people are looking to play the (wo)man not the ball. It is not unreasonable to point out inconsistancies, but not to the extent that the original message gets lost. We are particularly guilty of doing that in this country. The press have always built people up only to knock them down again. Does it really matter if the message is coming from a “woke celebrity,” a politician or anybody else. It is the message that is the important thing. Most of us agree that we need to do more about reducing our carbon footprint. Most of us fly or drive diesels or do other stuff that we should limit. Technically it makes us all hypocrites, but if we are aware that we need to change our behaviour, recycle, make other changes, it all helps. People like them travel a lot as part of their position. It doesn’t make sense for them to take a yacht every time they cross an ocean. Greta Thunberg attends events all over the world too. She would never get anywhere if she relied on solar power or the wind. If, by their actions, many other carbon footprints are reduced, isn’t that the point? Climate change isn’t going to slow down if Megan and Harry take fewer flights, but it will if thousands of people take fewer flights. If they do because Megan and Harry travel the world to spread that message, the result is worth it surely?

Thanks Whitey, it looks like you are right about Canada. Will try Prime.

What on earth was he going on about?

I just had a similar experience. I am on an ELP appreciation site and tonight someone posted a Melody Maker review from their gig at the Hammersmith Odeon in December 1972 which I attended. I was 18 at the time and remember it like yesterday. Where does the time go?

Why not? Are Muslims part of Johnson’s One Nation? -

Awww, that’s a shame. I liked Barry. He certainly ticked the northern box although clearly lacked ovaries. -
Anyone watching this at the moment? It says it is on the History channel on Wednesdays at 9pm. Not on my tv it isn’t?
