  1. LOL how do you know what I heard and who I heard it from Torres?
  2. As you know I am no NC fan, but I would have no problem with NA coming here at all. Not my personal choice but any manager coming in would get my support. Whoever they are, they will have a tough job on their hands.
  3. I have heard something tonight that gives me a different take on what possibly happened so I am not saying anymore on the subject for now Minsk.
  4. The money thing is a bit worrying. We are told we are a rich club yet the spend this year was disappointing considering we all new we needed a bit more class. And why worry about compensating a club for a manager under contract unless the money ain't there?
  5. He sacked the contractors so you would like to think at least once to give them their P45s
  6. Ok, so why wait to the end of the transfer window to sack him? If it was the right thing to do, do it at the end of the last season, rebuild and hit the ground running at the start of the new. Instead, he sacks him at the point that we show were are turning things round and we can't sign new players. Priceless.
  7. Getting a bit wound up Phil? I don' think AP did too bad a job with the first team last year. As for being sacked for non footballing reasons, why did the other 2 go too?
  8. But apparently he has nothing to do with the 1st team
  9. I agree with a co-ordinated approach. That is what Lowe was trying with the Dutch guys, only problem, wrong people! It makes sense to get the youth, ressies and 1st team signing from the same hymn sheet. Thing is, shouldn't the manager being the one calling the shots? Les Reed might well be a jolly nice bloke and have lots and lots of coaching badges, but I would want the manager running the whole show.
  10. or turn to stone
  11. I bet he wished he'd been caught sha*ging too!
  12. That's what Mick Channon said about LM. He bought in good players and let them get on with it!
  13. If the pressure isn't getting to the players DD, what do you think the problem is? We scored loads last season, why has that dried up?
  14. You would like to think that the structure would have been discussed and agreed during Pardew's interview.
  15. But the third game on the trot....it might not be the end of he world but it certainly is not making things easier for the new manager..if we ever get one! He is still expected to take us up this year.
  16. That is post of the problem, it is easy to post something on here and have some people take it as gospel if it suite their agenda. But lets look at the rumour. If it was true, why did they other 2 get sacked as well unless they were banging her too? This has been going on for a while. You don't have to be ITK to see that Pardew and Cortese are not best buddies. There has probably been one row too many and Cortese has done now what he probably wanted to do last season and sack him. Conjecture yes, but more probable I would think than the sh*gging story.
  17. So, the media hating, shy, retiring CEO who doesn't want to know anyone to know his or the clubs business would reply to me giving me a truthful version of events?
  18. Let me get this right, you say that it is a fact? Earlier you said who knows and who cares?
  19. Is it Corporate Policy to buy a player the manager might not fancy then phone up and ask why he wasn't playing? Wasn't this one of the reasons that people hated Lowe so much, because of interferrance with team affairs (allegedly). You can see a scenario where there is a meeting to talk through the game and decisions made. If this happened as reported it sounds like it was taken in a different way by the manager.
  20. Do you think he would bother to reply? All we know is that he had to do it. Apparently.
  21. I care because I would like to know the real reason the CEO got rid of a perfectly decent manager. In case you hadn't noticed, we have lost every game since.
  22. Sorry DD I don't understand your point. I have already said that if this forum had been around in the 70s McMenemy would have been crucified in the year we were in the 2nd division. I don't slag off managers so my treatment of LM would be the same as the treatment I have given Pardew, JP Wotte Burley etc.
  23. All comes back to the manager or coach issue that we used to have under Lowe. You can see why someone would want to come in and be manager as you would imagine you would have more control. A coach is....well, a coach. We don't know what happened but it seems possible that Cortese and Pardew did not see eye to eye about Pardew's roll and the way he carried it out. Anyone with the strength of character to take this club up will, you would think, want to do it their way. Once upon a time the most important person at a club was the manager. Now it is the CEO.
  24. YOu know very well there is a difference between asking questions and asking you to justify yourself and your decisions. In the article the inference was that NC was oversteeping the mark in APs view. As has been said, if Lowe had done the same you would be all over him like a rash. Still, it is all conjecture isn't it?
  25. It may well not be true, but how can you be sure? From what we have hard so far I would say it was possible. Certainly Up & Aways post makes it sound like it is something that he might do. Something wasn't right between Cortese and Pardew. It usually comes down to the manager feeling that he is not being allowed to manage. May of may not be the case but generally if managers are getting 100% support from their CEO you don't get this problem. There seemed to be issiues over priorities last year. Pardew said he was keen to win something for the club and the fans as we had been starved of success. If Cortses was 100% focuseed on promotion you can see where the rift started. All conjecture of course but really, why get rid of a manager who did a good job last year and was trying to build on that this year? It doesn't make sense.
