  1. Always admired Mike Newell from his Luton days. Sign him up.
  2. The reaction of Sturridge when he saw him coming down the tunnel for the 2nd half said it all for me. A player I reckon no-one wanted to come up against.
  3. Totally agree with this, and in my view if we're after £30m now, with 2 years left on his contract, i'd rather tell him he's going nowhere for a year and take £10-12m next year.
  4. Sorry, missed off the "according to The Sun" part.
  5. Read it on the transfer centre part of the site....and that is exactly what it says there. Feel free to enlighten me. Such attitude for so early in the day.
  6. Sky Sports saying £25m.....and they're closing in on the signing. Can he really have only been valued at that?
  7. I feel bad for doing so, but I actually laughed and clapped when they scored - just can't get excited by our national side these days, and if anything i'm more excited at the thought of them underperforming and looking like a bunch of overpaid idiots.
  8. That could apply to another international side.....wonder who that could be...
  9. I'd love to know exactly what the conversations are at the moment between SFC, Ron "the snake" Koeman, his agent, and Everton. I imagine with the time this is all taking it can't be pretty.
  10. Easy to walk away....if you don't want to be in the thick of it in the first place. So, do we think there'll be a controversial England starting XI this evening?
  11. Having to watch & listen to the ITV commentary this evening will probably induce drunken riots here too.
  12. He might lose his £500 deposit - after all, things are going to be tight on the money front for the next few years.
  13. He comes in, does really well, gets pinched. He comes in, does really badly, gets binned. So having longevity with the next appointment really depends on them succeeding in the first place.
  14. Regardless of what their fans think, they aren't classed as a big club these days. They have a strong history, but I think if you asked anyone in this country or overseas they wouldn't say "Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and....oh yes, Everton". Players won't chose to go there because of their history, because they've done nothing for decades. If they do go there it's about playing football for a PL club, and the money on offer. IMO, they're seen as just another team battling against the possibility of mid-table mediocrity.
  15. Was that a casting event for 118 118?
  16. He'll have to learn to live without chips and mayonnaise and get used to delicacy that is the chip barm, with battered mars bar for pud.
  17. Any idea how long Watson signed for in 2014? If he still has a few years left we can simply ask him to stay. He wasn't brought in to the club by Koeman specifically (I don't think) and so isn't part of his entourage....no doubt i'll be corrected if i'm wrong.
  18. I'd say that if you already have a strong side and want to strengthen in 3-4 areas it would be enough. But with the changes they'll need to make I don't think £100m will touch the sides.
  19. I went to Uni in Liverpool, and spent many hours with scallies - but I never realised that delusions of grandeur were one of the prominent side effects of incest.
  20. Regardless of what's happened, having just seen the awards dinner video when Les was asked about how RK had done last season..and his deadpan "OK" reply, it just seemed an odd way to answer the question. At least the way he said it was. He either can't deliver a gag/amusing quip or he meant it. The response from the attendees was totally flat, and I'm pretty sure this wasn't down to editing as it was on the club YouTube site. If he was joking, I've not heard a joke fall quite so flat in a while. If he wasn't joking, probably not the time or place for that sort of reply. Makes you wonder if he's not the easiest to work with.
  21. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/14536889.Koeman__agrees_deal__to_join_Everton/ As if we didn't already know.
  22. I would chuckle a fair bit if we sign a top, proven manager and it becomes public knowledge that we're paying him £6m a year.
  23. I hope the people who believe that change has only improved us are right.....another 5 managerial changes and we've got the PL title in the bag.
  24. Other than his salary, I think this is a bad move for him. Just can't see how it can work out well, even if he's given the reported £100m plus proceeds of sale for Lukaku, Stones etc.
