That's the type of display we've always wanted from this team...win,draw or lose... COYS more of the same in the second half
-
Let's be positive, RH has always stated he preferred a smaller squad, CS and MJ were end of contract with no renewal forthcoming, wages off the club's book, a few more wins and we're safe (who wouldn't have taken this late last year), build upon a (possible) decent season next summer... In the meantime I'll take a draw this afternoon COYR

all gladiators tonight... including the away fans... That's about as good as we've had it for 3 years... (bar the 4-0) Really proud COYR

2-1 Saints .... got a feeling Longy might get a brace after opening his account at the weekend... COYR

Really fun game to watch... we had 11 warriors on the pitch and a 12th from the stand... Special mention to the two center backs who were rock solid, PEH and JWP who bossed the midfield and the special one at the front (what a season he's having) Credit to RH and his coaching staff, we've got our saints back... Now hoping (praying) for some continuity in our standard and effort for the coming weeks. COYS

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Saints - FT - Reactions and Christmas Cheer!
ButtikonSaint replied to Heisenberg's topic in The Saints
Get in... Nice Xmas present to the fans from the Saints ... good performance, good goals, defensively pretty sound... out of the bottom 3... Hope the Saints saved enough to give me a late present ... as I'm travelling back home next week and will be at the Palace game ... Merry Xmas everyone :-) -
We're starting to look like a team. Settled shape, half decent automatism, hard working. Unbeaten in three, out of the relegation zone, some optimism... it's a pretty decent turn around especially after Leicester and some of the dross served prior. Fair enough some players are pretty limited and average but until we can get re-enforcement (probably not til summer), RH is managing to get something out of them. Talking of the manager, I really think we need to support him... Some may think his tactics can be naive but he seems honest, fully committed to Saints and a leader. A few more positive results in our next two or three games and we could be sitting mid-table looking up... As for performances tonight: Ingsy and Longy did pretty well and I think are a balanced partnership; Adams fighting to break that up will only benefit us. Midfield wasn't too bad actually, certainly pressed hard for 70ish mins; kept the side way passes to a minimum...ran out of steam at the end Defense and goalie: well ...let in less goal than we scored so I guess job done... A 30Mio hardcore central defender wouldn't go amiss COYS

Soooo so tense... but we got what we needed, no matter how... Boufal deserves to start, the boy's a class act. JWP redeems himself with a wonder goal after a very average first half. Even though he missed two chances, Long won headers and kept us going forward. Back four again struggling but we all know that and until we get a leader in there we can't expect much more. McCarthy is rightfully our number one. RH: we want you to succeed... Ings... one of our own... class. COYS!!!!

not bad half... at least we're competing... COYS
-
Relatively attacking.. not much else he can do ... maybe Djenepo on...but probably only for the 2nd half when we're desperately chasing the game..
-
Hard working, concentration, guts... Come boys
-
shocking, why turn up..... If we hadn't, aren't they suppose to give it 3-0 anyway?
-
I'll take another 9-0 defeat for a win at the weekend
-
Minimum achieved, decent performance, solid enough but would have been good to see Boufal on earlier... Pity though, think Wolves were there for the taking. Home form must dramastically improve for us to move up the table... COYS
-
No suprises in this starting eleven and I guess RH has gone in with a draw in mind... which is the minimum we need out of this game. Hoping for better in a couple of hours or so... COYS
-
Will be tough but nothing to lose, free shot.. so might as well enjoy it

agree - all heroes... end of

I´ll take this any day... wasn´t about pretty football, was about winning.... COYS

that was pretty good... great goal, good team work, clean sheet, COYS

Still early doors with our newbies finding their feet but looks promising... Was ponderous and reckon we might have lost hadn't BHA gone down to ten. We held on however and can take some pride at that. Feels like Boufal could be the spark that our midfield lacks. Not bad afternoon and great goal by Djenepo... COYS

Super frustrating but a good performance by the lads, certainly better than at the weekend. They have to find a way to keep these clean sheets next season and we'll be fighting for top 10. Long again proves his worth - he is tireless; such a pity he's had such barren spells. Good shape found by RH, just not 100% convinced by the subs... again we give the impetus to the competition by taking off our outlet and this team struggles . A point does us OK and should be enough ... but it's been a long season and looking forward to the end of it ... 2 years of struggle doesn't do well of the old ticker. COYS...

Pretty decent game, we created some good chances and scored. Back 5 covered really well until the last few mins. Tenacious midfield. Really Happy
-
Decent result, good team performance. If we can take (unexpected) points here and there away and win some of our home games, we can secure our status. Wished we could have played positive but we must be realistic. Defensive unit was strong and Yoshida, as the spare man, moping away anything dangerous was important tonight. Young Valery is a little limited but can only get better. Armstrong and Romeu were again busy and industrious - Redmond, Cedric and JWP average but didn't do too much wrong. Not too sure why Ings was replaced at half time but I hope that keeps him fresh for our home game. Pretty useful our goalie... good competition... COYS
-
quite attacking line-up, like it JWP triple assist to DI... 0-3 tothe Saints... COYS
-
going for 3-2 Saints with Tadic, Redmond and Chazzzzzza sending Saints off for the Summer.... Will be interesting to see how this eleven will compare to next season's opener... I reckon 7 of them will make line-up (Alex, Wesley, Jack, Oriol, P-E, Nathan, Chaz) COYS !!!!
