  1. Pretty much confirms it.
  2. Could have called him?
  3. http://https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/southampton-owner-tells-mauricio-pellegrino-he-has-no-extra-funds-6xz3ff8v6 Late story but one of interest, I would think. Story by Matt Hughes, their deputy football correspondent.
  4. Do you ever have anything positive to say about Saints, without at least one negative point? If it gets to the end of the window and they've not sold him despite you saying umpteen times he's going, you'll say well he's off next year then. That would probably be correct but I'm struggling to see what you get from football if everything the club you so-called support does is s**t. Perhaps try tiddlywinks instead?
  5. who were you expecting for the u23 goalkeeper, Donnarumma?
  6. That was part of the reason they signed Hassen last season too; Lewis was benchwarming and not getting game time when Puel felt he wasn't ready to suddenly be called into the breach if Fraser got injured, hence Hassen coming in. This season they've let him out on loan and Rose covers him for the year.
  7. Knockaert- Not sure he's good enough. Leicester didn't seem to trust him when they came up, so doubts over him. Cairney- Signed a new contract start of the month. Pontus Jansson- Good centre back and very solid, good from set-pieces too. Would like him but not sure whether we were just linked to get a better contract. Lewis Dunk- Haven't watched an awful lot, but whether Brighton would sell their captain now is highly unlikely. Jedinak- Good championship player now, watched him a lot last season at Villa Park and a key player. Too old now, if he's not good enough to get in CP's midfield he's not good enough for ours.
  8. Yeah exactly; Markus may have been valued at that figure, but a lot would have tied down with companies so wouldn't have anywhere near that figure to hand, same with KL.
  9. Markus was valued at £3B and that was then attributed to Katharina. I think it was Adam Leitch at the Echo in one of the pieces about the rumoured takeover that said her overall wealth was around £300m.
  10. I'm very happy with the club where we are, and didn't say I was not happy. But if the club is talking of qualifying for the Champions League in the near future, say in 5/10 years, then we need to find someone who can help us financially.
  11. But no football club owner goes into it making money. I'm not saying we need a huge change, but it is clear KL feels she cannot push us on any further realistically. Finding an investor who can put money into the club and open up markets could help us do that.
  12. I get that and I am a very big fan of how the Liebherrs have ran the club; they've stayed in the background, only comment when absolutely needed, and let people get on with their jobs without interference. However, it is clear that to push on we need fresh investment. No-one buys a football club to make money (the only way to become rich from it is by being very rich in the first place) but we do need another body to put money in, attract new sponsors and potentially open up new markets (the USA and South-east asia seem to be the ones with serious growth). When you look at the Arnautovic deal for a £25m fee and £26m contract, and realise that's a sixth of KL's rumoured value on the whole, then it becomes more obvious. The football club now is one of KL's biggest assets and perhaps she doesn't have the wealth readily available to fund the next step; hence why she's looking herself to find someone who does. I do however have big reservations over Lander; if they're struggling to buy the club or raise the funds needed, then are they likely to have the funds needed in future? I'm not so sure.
  13. The fact it's come from other clubs than Saints probably means it's the most reliable because it would be not just from Saints' view.
  14. Yep, definitely Reeds fault the injured captain flew to Blackpool to meet Klopp. Definitely Reed's fault VVD didn't turn up to the awards dinner. Definitely Reed's fault VVD was tapped up. Come on.
  15. No because Lovren wouldn't come back so the hypothetical point is fairly pointless. If it was about swaps, I would prefer straight cash to buy who we wanted rather than who Liverpool want to get rid of.
  16. I agree on this- not sure on him as an out-and-out DM as I'm not sure how much time he has had there. More than fine with him as a back-three though, played in that system at Swindon during his loan spell there.
  17. A tad surprised he has signed a new deal as I had heard he was likely to leave this summer, but his injury and subsequent poor form meant that went out of the window. Perhaps the market going up like it has means that whatever was in the previous contract was needed to be removed in case his form reverts back to normal.
  18. Think I'm right in saying when the adds on are met, it goes into that years accounts. So the £34m for Mane will go into the 15/16 accounts as it was before the July 1st cut-off point for the accounts to be filed; if we were to then get £1m if they won the league this season, for example, I think it would go into this years accounts. I'm fairly sure that is how it works, but happy to be proved wrong.
  19. Was Bamford, scored 4 in a 5-1 win.
  20. Sorry; was Southampton's full accounts for 15/16 on Companies House. This may work better. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/00053301/filing-history
  21. Page 5 of this proves pocketing of fees is absolute horse manure. https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/document-api-images-prod/docs/1U0-4rjpc38ozHYZcRGpwRJM-g4SSbhsqOKFMCaBcF0/application-pdf?AWSAccessKeyId=ASIAJQVLOI4HHXAG3HPA&Expires=1500310544&Signature=3Zzdu4bBsB85GOrK4ARKH5Mof1I%3D&x-amz-security-token=FQoDYXdzEEcaDJnSwToST8aYQm84ySK3A0QDMM0EujuGpsLmFsTfsvNi4Ak0dLGggNjgXFQo1TcgJgNC34XDRakwIaDMcqrFtCpHzbjldppC0cGdimYW%2Bx3O807TI4GscH9UK1aZFJ9AoSrbVdwcHBL%2FY49X2%2Bw%2BwGzc3oOhpS%2FPb0KEsS9%2B727nigr04jA%2FlaBydj2MrL61cViXee1t6PTr%2Fqbb6KGnTrRM1voUKbQIj0gUiXb862wJGnbZbCvuDUPizks%2BD7Zg1C%2BHAlHxZQDmnwVXRt%2B27zmnwx2iAAVrhVzVZxY9cQTJsYF3Xs9svOUFpaWLuYukbSXvqfZ5md9grlqMeOFB%2BrgddTEl09UyUgRwF2%2FE8m2Oh0Tsr7fh3v29zua92eXKCJfEhpMRiufKktoCqfu4tPi30ei3Xk33TJ5jh3ktTzA6v2xEFM1r7bxiFfmOpFx26rN9KCX5gJ1MrsDGH7IM7ox6q%2FhIER4jX3igCYuwl5DvotIv0niPDtnKw9wBNf%2FMuu20C%2F%2FsbubOKGYNeszsvfKIpDcCBBw3E3VaxH7PcNy9vQXtpI9X9370ZGsTHjhhecG0XZtHczfmuDjNERhLc4aGL6uX1zkoroizywU%3D
  22. Or we're just not interested and are being linked by his agent to drum up interest? If it doesn't seem like a Saints kind of signing, 9/10 we're not interested.
  23. Only just seen this So I'm the idiot, even though you're saying Saints should add more seats because they have 1.6m likes on Facebook?
  24. Would've thought if he was a prominent lawyer that would appear on a Google search, at least somewhere. Nothing bar his Twitter account: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Daniel+Vanderkamp&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB711GB711&oq=daniel+v&aqs=chrome.0.69i59l2j69i60j69i57j69i61l2.1447j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Seems like one of those accounts who only seem to tweet about transfer rumours when the transfer window is open, and never seems to get any rumours wrong even when transfers are so volatile and can easily break down. Hmm....
