I watched closely the way we played on Saturday and it reminded me of the very first training session AP did at Saints. He wants the ball down the flanks into open space where Lallana or Papa would either beat there man to cross/square it for the on rushing midfielders or they cut the ball back for Harding/Murty to either cross it in, Sometimes they play it inside the centre to Hammond or Morgan if they have not made a run. That's our only style which operates only on a 4-5-1 formation. Did Brighton suss us out or something? Discuss please as I love in depth footy talk.

From my stand it looked like Hammonds third never even went in. I heard so much about how good it is to watch saints away and today I was dissapointed with the atmosphere although we had two full stands. Btw Lallana is a class act, his vision and control is something else, even before the start of the game he was going to each player to gee them up.

It's funny you mention Niemi would be wasted, This current team will score every game which means If you don't concede then you can only win :-) Who the smeg is juggerhead haha let's have them oldies back m8 as I love the stories from the past.

If you could bring one player back from the past to help us today who would it be? I know many of you would choose Le Tiss but IMHO we have some luxury players like Morgan and Lallana already. I would take Anti Niemi in his prime as I have never seen anything like it for Saints.

I know for a fact that some of the players AP wanted was not interested in joining because of our -10 points, now we are looking a good bet for the playoffs I expect AP will love the thought of some good championship players wanting to join us now. Why not get a good solid centre back with a quailty holding midfielder with an extra striker option like Harewood.

It has got me thinking that in the last five games we have not conceded when going to the 4-4-2, as we are on paper a much better football team than most of those in our league, does the 4-4-2 keep the other team pressed back? Can it be a system that can work from the kick off as you might burn out Connolly and Lambert when they are chasing down the defenders? Also the right midfielder option with Papa and Ant, can they play together or does it work well as it is because both of them are super charged up to keep attacking the flank? Discuss please, but remember I'm not trying to tell AP how to do his job as I just love to talk about the technical side of football.

Its clear the team has finally moved away from rock bottom which is when this club could not stop sinking for years, but at what part it stopped? I personally think we carried on reaching lower points after the buy out but when im not sure. what about you?
