Jose Fonte The personification of Southampton's impressive rise
SaintLiam replied to whelk's topic in The Saints
Everyone seemed to agree too, very odd. Cahill has had a lot of problems this season, hell he's even been pushed out of Chelsea by Zouma...can't even get in his own team, let alone the PFA TOTS! -
Saying Morgan won't leave? That's a bold move cotton, let's hope it pays off for him!

Joking obviously. He had a great game apart from that, and I think all of those keepers are good options, they've all had their moments of madness in recent memory including Forster.
-
Nevermind already posted Yeah his shoulder was still broken, played through it
-
I always thought it was Pelle's hair gel seeping onto the pitch.

The only stadium which seemed to be making noise in MoTD was The Etihad.

And how we got the better deal from Poch's departure.

Penultimate game on MoTD.. and QPR/Wham before it is a 0-0...

When he went down holding his face? Replay showed that it was a pretty light elbow on the chin, but Mane went down clutching his eye. Mane was going down far too easily throughout the game, can't blame Moss for having enough of it.

Okay just subbed to site, now, my player ratings that I'm sure you've been dying to know: Kelv - 4 Don't remember if he needed to make a save, maybe could do better for the first and definitely should have done better for the second Clyne - 7 A bit more like his 2014 self in this game, seemed to have much more freedom on the right for runs and crosses Fonte - 8 typical Fonte performance, defensive masterclass and tried very well to make the most of some difficult chances Yoshi - 6 Had a good game until the 2nd goal, he fell asleep which allowed Chadli to do a number on him Bertrand - 8 Brilliant game, dominated the left and his touch was godly today Toby - 7 Didn't hear too much of him, but sometimes the defensive mids are the unsung heroes Spiderman - 7 Same as Toby, had a typically strong performance Mane - 7 Had a very good game but the constant diving is leaving a sour taste in my mouth, we can laugh it off for the first few times and say "oh, classic Mane!" but it gets truly embarrasing after awhile. JWP - 7 That second cross of his was beautiful, best I've seen from him, and Tottenham were lucky they've got a great keeper as it was taken well. Good game all around Stevie Davis - 6.5 Obviously the missed chances cost us the extra points in hindsight, but his general play and contribution to attacks was good. Pelle - 8.5 A true 2014 Pelle performance, harassing defenders and dragging them around for Davis' first chance, stayed alert for his first and simple quality for his second. Would be 9, but his failed flick-on which looked to be a bit too extravagent gave the ball away for Tottenham's build-up for their first goal. Long - 7.5 First touch of the ball for a Pelle assist and a good overall impact which we want from a sub Elia - 7 Showed a bit of bottle when absolutely none of our corner takers were on the pitch, and delivered two fine corners. Reed - 5 Not much of a game, conceded a free kick and won a header.

has it also not been picked up how devilishly handsome Gazza is?

Davis - Par - Did very well against Burnley and made a decent save against Hull, reason Stoke got their first goal though Forster - Hit - I rate him highly for a L1 keeper with prem attributes. Realise how good he is when compared to Kelv, with respect to Kelv of course. Clyne - Par - Made the best runs down the right in 2014, now is generally less effective Bertrand - Hit - Makes fantastic runs down the left and has linked up well with Tadic and Mane, as well as putting in lethal crosses. Fonte - Hit - I need not explain this one, arguably the best CB in the prem this year. Alderweireld - Hit - Another one which has been one of the best CBs in the prem, versatile player but been injured a lot. Yoshida - Hit - Stepped up when we lost Toby amazingly, did a fine job in his absence and the way Koeman talks about him shows that he doesn't mind being benched. Gardos - Par - Been shaky in some games but was very good against United, I just wonder if it was worth purchasing him. Targett - Hit - Been a good replacement for Bertrand in a position which doesn't have players flocking to play in it. Schneiderlin - Hit - Usually the best player on the pitch no matter the opposition, he'll be sorely missed Wanyama - Hit - Such a great physical presence to have when facing weak midfields...his shooting is sometimes abysmal though JWP - Par - Needs to settle to one position and role a bit, he's all over the place sometimes. Davis - Par - Overall been decent in the team, been having a nightmare in these past few games. Tadic - Par - Such a good early season along with Graziano but he's tailed off. Elia - Miss - Our system and formation doesn't really suit dedicated wingers too much, he's got good technical ability but doesn't really fit into the team Reed - Hit - Played very well in all of his appearances for the team, clever little player Djuricic - Par - I'll give him par because he hasn't had much game time with us, he was quite good against Liverpool and Palace though. Long - Par - £12m, but he just runs. His touch is usually heavy which means that even if he is able to exploit a wayward backpass, he doesn't have the composure to convert it. Mane - Hit - The worst player to put on a Saints shirt since Ali Dia has been amazing for us, has scored so many crucial goals, though he was having a load of stinkers in November/December! Pelle - Par - Even though the goals dried up he was still useful in many matches as a target man, mostly in Newcastle and United away. Though in other games he was simply a liabilty. Koeman - Hit - Honest in his interviews and can have a laugh too. Usually makes the right decisions in games. One I can remember is West Brom where he removed 3-5-2 and Gardos because it wasn't working, in the 20th minute. Some managers have too much dignity to admit their godly tactics aren't working out.

Time? Team*. Can't edit. Double post, so I'll say something meaningful. I'm not quite sure of the concept of a "sixth place manager", could someone elaborate?

What LVG doesn't have however is "the belief and spirit of the time", something RK reminds us every interview

While Schneiderlin is obviously fantastic, we saw when we played Burnley that he struggles without Wanyama, while Wanyama can play without Schneiderlin. I think Reed may need to partner Morgan.
