Quick glance on the Liverfool forum, lots of chatter about 'the diamond formation' being back for them and that if that's the case they will, "rip us a new one" ... ...needless to say... Come on you SAINTS!!!

Does anyone think a top quality RB would be a wise purchase... I'm not completely convinced with this Martina/Cedric situation
-
Looking good down the left ... if only we could have the same down the right!

Can only get better?

I get the feeling that because we are likely to see his departure this summer we are criticising him to cushion the blow? Almost like when your girlfriend leaves you and you convince yourself that it's her loss and she was ugly and you didn't like her that much (maybe that's just me) ? In all seriousness, if he doesn't want to be here I appreciate us "slagging him off" to save face, but I genuinely think he's a great player and replacing him with like for like or better would be expensive ie. If Romeu is out would you play Clasie/JWP/Reed and be as confident?

He just repeated your exact point in more words. So don't feel too bad it wasn't a proper MLG'ing [emoji1][emoji38] -

AKA the lowest we can finish is 11th [emoji6] [emoji1] -
Would Forster do what JRod did? We recovered JRod from a huge injury and he paid us back by signing a contract. Do we think Forster would feel he owes us when it comes to extending his?

Just to highlight how good a point Dodd has just made, full strength using THE SAME starting XI as last night at Arsenal, this could of been our subs bench: 1. Stekelenburg 2. Gardos/Yoshi 3. Clasie 4. S Davis 5. Pelle 6. Austin 7. Rodriguez Left out: Targett, Yoshi/Gardos, Juanmi, Martina, Reed etc To me that really does speak volumes! ☺

I expect a completely different game to St Marys. I hope we spend enough time in training learning how to defend teams who constantly pass and move it around the edge of the box quickly to disorganise defensives. Moreover, the importance of tracking late runs into the box (eg. Flamini yesterday when he missed a sitter) and full backs overlapping. Massive test defensively and completely different to the style of Watford, WB and Man Utd. If we contain them I think Long/Mane could damage them. And of course the best part of this match is we get to see an "Arsenal performance" from Wanyama!!! ?☺ COYR I would love a win, but a draw would be great too all things considered, let's be honest.

VIDEO: Fraser Forster's recovery - (31 min doc)

I'm predicting the following being sung soon enough: He waves when he wants He waves when he wants Fraser Forster He waves when he wants -
I think me and Bexy touched on this before the game. I think Romeu (and especially Clasie) are getting stronger and fitter, but maybe not ready for multiple games a week especially when there are players who can replace them. In short: We have competition in the squad so keeping your place isn't easy. Not a bad thing.
-
Totally agree Bexy, Romeu shouldn't be dropped after his recent form. But I can only assume it's a fitness thing, look at Clasie not even on the bench today for example. Show us some of that "Arsenal form" Wanyama!! Lol!
-
Sorry to ask a question that might force people to think logically - But how do we know that Romeu has 100% fully recovered from our midweek game ..??? Can we stay positive please!! :-) Come on you Saints!!!
-
Italian news reports saying Lazio's number 1 target is Pelle. Think we should keep hold of Long for the time being!
-
GREAT WIN!! Agree with all the positives so to switch it up I will post a very small negative as I'm curious if I'm in the minority with this one.... Does it annoy anyone else that we appear to need to replace Cedric with Yoshi at RB because we can't trust Cedric to defend? (And before you say it's because of height, imagine if we subbed Bertrand off "because of height"...both Fullbacks need to be unsubbable surely?) Looking forward to Saturday !!

THAT'S how you take your chances!! Excellently doneTadic!!! Let's see this out you Saints!
-
1. Similar to Wanyama - except faster and much better technique 2. Currently not playing because he's behind Pogba, Marchiso, etc 3. Juve are after Gundogan so would potentially sell Stuaro if this happens 4. 22 so won't be cheap! 5. Should be excellent in prem and certainly a quality quality addition and/or replacement of Wanyama Survey says: Won't happen too good to be true unfortunately. Next!

Not sure where to put this, somebody mentioned this a while ago that would JWP be a worth a shout at RB? Reasons: 1. Hasn't nailed down an exact position yet playing CDM, CAM and out wide before 1. His all round ability is good (not world class to unlock defenses at CAM or to be a destroyer at CDM) so his good technical ability and being comfortable on the ball would shine at RB. 2. Technically being is CM he is used to both attacking and defending 3. Similar to the above about being good defensively - he said he likes CDM so defensively minded 4. Has an excellent cross on him 5. Often runs more than any other player on the pitch so fitness isn't an issue getting back and forth 6. Can't score and RBs aren't expected to score much! Or am I way off? Thoughts?

With Andy Carroll coming on in the 2nd you know they are gonna lump it up to him. So I can see there's no point in pressing high if they are just going to go route 1 every time. That said. 2nd half yesterday was so bad with or without Carroll being on the pitch.
-
IMO and hypothetically speaking if we signed Clyne right now, he would be our starting RB above Cedric. On a positive note I think Cedric will learn a lot this season and may well get there by the end of this season.
-
VVD, Mane and Bertrand looking good in an otherwise bad performance so far
-
Re JWP and his position; Can it be argued that Rooney "doesn't have position" like JWP also and hes does well enough for himself? Surely it's a good thing to be able to play multiple positions? Although, I assume the argument is he's not strong enough in any one position so constantly floats around the starting XI.
