I dont think he needed that, it is the stupid owner paying out massive wages. Why do successful businessmen fall for HR's chat to get players in?
-
Is Caulker that good? i did see the hype about him but Cardiff did let in a load of goals, especially when their Chilean defencive midfielder was out
-
yes it is a problem. Is there somebody out in county cricket like Mike Brearley who may not be test class but a clever tactical brain as well as able to get a team to bond....Ill go and get my cricket bag ready

depends on what age you are but Sidmouth is a hidden gem with lots of pretty villages and places to go. The town is quaint with own family run department store. We go there about 3 times a year and find it relaxing. The Victoria Hotel is fantastic (the clientele is quite old but the last few times we have noticed a lot more 40 somethings) We like the service and some decent prices. If you are looking for nightlife its not for you, but quiet relaxation then i would say definately. http://www.victoriahotel.co.uk/?gclid=CLvTr7Lg2L8CFWETwwoddE4AGw As i say if you are under 40 then its not really the place,

exactly, Lovrens alleged strike, quotes in the media have cost our club millions. Therefore would it not be best for the longterm that our players are shown that the strik option etc will not work. Yes his wages are huge and a big cost but is peanuts to the big picture. if he was put in the reserves or refuses to train (I assume he would not get paid) he would come round again pretty quickly especially as he saw the potential of him going to greater things disappear as he rots away. If the club/board stood up and did that i would believe that really were the real deal and had some balls not just pussies
-
good point, and he has been tested in the PL and shown he is a decent keeper
-
If we could win the PL just once Im sure we all would die happy. Pompey won the FA cup and killed the club to a degree, I doubt more than a handful would give it all back for a life of mediocrity they had for the previous 40 years
-
National pride, I would love for the England team to improve.
-
but it might mean he refused to train after a few days, just trying to assert pressure to make the club sell. That is fine but it is bad enough trying to get the move but at the same time it will potentially cost the club millions as our negotiatig position will be less. DL is worth quite a lot of points to us, how can you put a price on that come the end of the season? Sell him reluctanly but get a kings ransom
-
Fair points IMO

It really started when the clubs stopped sharing the gate money, in the early 80s(?) When the big clubs threatened to break away(I think it was Man U , Liverpool and Arsenal) and make some kind of European super league if they didn't get their way. I felt at the time let them do so, they would have soon come back cap in hand. Now the CL is so important the PL is as some say just the means to qualify.
-
Cook just does not think out of the box. Listening to Warne you realise what a fantastic cricket mind he has.
-
that must be a bargain for Sky to get those hundreds of thousands of Pompey fans as extra viewers. 10k, boy doesnt the TV money dwindle the lower you get
-
the person he put in place was still there though, who was following through ML's wishes. You and many others did not have the same confidence in him of course but whatever you say he delivered. The new lot have not done anything to help the club move on since

FC I absolutely detest being so negative about about he club I have put so much into over the years. ML together with NC gave us a drive that seems to me has been lost with the sad departure of ML. Now I feel we have have his sibling who understandably does not have the same love/desire. The removal of ML choice to make the dream happen started for things to unravel. All IMO of course, KL inheritance I assume is tied up to a degree in the club and perhaps she is not prepared to risk it and so drawing some of it back in. At present we have only lost 3players and so I should perhaps not be so down, but it seems to me we have lost the drive. I felt that losing LS AL was not a major problem but to lose Lovren and MS would be disasterous. If we manage to keep them then my concerns will be wiped away, let's hope this week brings some quality players in rather than out
-
I would not be confident, considering Fonte has been left on a lead waiting to see if he is to be offered a contract it would be mad not to have had a centre back already signed. IMO if we had tied down a CB already clubs would not be able to hold us to ransome as they will now as we will be cashed up and obviously desperate to sign a centre half. Add to that they will not want to lose such a player 2weeks from the start of the season.
-
well at this moment in time it looks like KL is perhaps withdrawing some of her investment into the club. (Her prerogative) If it is the case is it sad that they are not being transparent and leading the fans along by saying the money will be reinvested as well as the 35m.
-
So potentially our CBS are are a choice between Yoshidas, hoos and Fonte (not offered a new contract) I'm sure Arthur is relishing the start of the season.
-
If I was a top player andSaints were competing with other clubs for my signature, I would think why go there as the club are selling the best players and it looks like a season of struggle. For all the dressing up we are selling and not replacing with as good or better. Read through Reeds quote again and it is holed below the waterline
-
Our intention is to keep our core players, I assume the core means those we don't have offers on
-
Spurs are a massive club, we are a mid size club. He is stating a truth. IMO
-
for me having my hopes raised for the last few years and seeing the club being driven on by NC, gave me a hope and expectation. NC has been removed and it seems to me that we have a mealy mouthed weak leadership follow on from that. i have not been following Saints for over 50years but I have been for over 45 . In that time I was used to failure and disappointment, but the last few years had given me a new confidence. I still can't get my head around how we seem to be holding back getting fresh players in. I hope e club have some aces up their sleeves but we all know what happens if you have to play catch up. The PL is a harsh league and we have a rookie manager (PL terms) and potentially a rookie side.
-
are you CBFry if not you do a good impersonation
-
I was a bit uneasy when I read about RK saying that we were not doing much physical stuff but just with the ball. If the club has had all the teams from the youngsters up, playing the same way up to now, the. all of a sudden that has been binned the players are going to pretty confused and unfit.
