Its not a sneer at 10th, Im delighted you actually put up something solid, there is the first time for everything. 10th is hardly going out on a limb. I dont count finishing 10th or 8th as glory but just an assessment where i think we will finish at the present time. As for full strength teams,if you have not talked about playing full strength teams, why the hell have you been going on about fielding weakened teams!!!!

which Ryder cup are you talking about, the only one you havent mentioned is the one in a decades time. I have managed to train myself to go into a coma when you start on one of your golf episodes,as interesting they are .......to you, I then snap out as soon as you get to the more interesting stuff like the attractive young ladies that you pictured at the pub. Is there a pic of you in the programme,if so I do hope you did a David Brent pose

Sarahs perpective is valid , it is a good time to be a Saints manager, and it is nothing new for a manager at a smaller club to be hyped for jobs. More long balls than any other club, she proclaims, well we must win a lot of them as we have far more possession than most. If Gerrard hits one its a cross field pass,if we do its a long ball. Statistics are easy to play with, Cardiff have gone on a good run, Palace have a new belief, so it is convenient to compare. We rotate our squad as the season is long and the pressing game can burn players out, so i can understand why he changes the team. i would love to keep the same players in every week, but pragmatism is the order of the day. As for the foreign signings, nobody has seemed to get that right with Gaston, Osvaldo gives me more hope,Dejan has been superb. Our transfer policy i not just down to MP apparently, and so can he be blamed? At present the article hits home and could be seized upon, but a few weeks ago it would not have made the press, that is the fickle fate of a football manager

Lol, dont worry we are just a load of *****es and have to have the last word.
-
How can we see see that you are right as we have not played our full strength team in every league and cup game (including the FA cup), and we haven't done well in a cup. You stated that you think we will finish above 10th, wow nothing like taking a risk lol. I said we would finish 8th. or above. Did we put out weakened teams last season in the cups? I cant recall how strong our side was against Chelsea in the cup, either way we lost.
-
OMG please dont tell me your mug is in the programme, if it is the St Johns ambulance there will be overworked as people will be putting pins in their eyes to avoid having to look. Is it a feature on Dubai Saints or golf or just about you?
-
lol, imagine the furore as we don't win many games in the league. I await the 'we haven't won for 5games'
-
I wonder how many Pompey fans secretly hate having that lot being the face of their support. It really is cringeworthy. It is like a scene from Soweto, a hut in the township
-
I don't see your point, I'm not the one crying about playing a weakened side. I also do not think we were likely to get into the top 4. Playing our weakened team is ok to some if they win, if they lose then it is the wrong decision. There are not reserve games like there used to be,that keep the squad players match fit, therefore cup competitions like the Sunderland game are the ideal times to play them. We expect players to fill in when others are injured, how else can they get the game time? If we had progressed further I expect the team fielded would have been stronger.
-
lol from someone who is frightened to put out an statement just in case he/she might be found wrong. Now answer the question or run away again , when is it alright to field a weakened team ?
-
I tell you what, if winning trophies is what makes you want to support the club then you have picked the wrong team. I support Southampton because i am proud to be born there, it is the team i watched from a kid and dreamed of playing for.Winning cups would be a massive bonus, btu not the begin and end all. Playing in the top flight was never high on my agenda, until we lost our place. i have come to realise that unless you play in the top league you really are not on the radar. I enjoyed watching us in the L1 and CCC but would not want to be there for a long time. Wigan, Birmingham, pompey,Blackburn,Burnley,PNE ete etc have won as much if not more but they can have that at present. When we win a trophy like the LC i will happily buy you a drink and say, CB you were right isnt that great, but if we dont win a cup i still will support the club with pride of being a Sotonian
-
as a matter of interest, when do you think we should play our strongest team? only games that we lose, games we are not expected to win, games we might win or we might lose?
-
In hindsight yes,but you could say that about countless other managers who would have had more class when they dealt with things. I look forward to Hoddles man management skills at WHL
-
After past conversations we played weakened sides in the cup,it seems that is OK if you win but not if you lose. If you play your strongest team (this is the thought of a poster on here)in the LC ,then it I assume it is expected that you have to play your strongest team in the FA cup ( unless those rules close to suit your argument) Therefore our first 11 may have been expected to fight the battle on 3 fronts. With our style of play that would be madness. Sunderland now face a 2leg semi final , the FA cup and a league struggle. I do agree that the LC is where we are most likely to get to a final and would be great for us all.

the scars run deep about that one.

Did the Florida vote come in? Do what Bush did and have a recount , get the counters to soil the voting slips and you will become President, I'm not sure we can be ruled upon by Emperor Hirohito
-
only with you, the standard bearer for Hoddle. It would be great for us if he got the job. Any manager who choose Carlton Palmer in front of MLT does not deserve any time
-
just for you I would love him to get the job......then watch them fail and you may then see how poor he really is. I doubt there is a Wolves fan who would take him back
-
i have contacted the authorities as the Data protection act, has been contravened, i will not withdraw the complaint until somebody votes me as the most popular poster on here Phil got a vote ffs. Ok he is top of the golfing stories but surely i could have had 'Pompey will get away with it' award
-
it was not a true poll was it, only a list from BEARSY. Without a doubt had it been an open vote, we would have wiped the floor with them, there was not an accomplished poster section and so that is why we were not nominated. At least Dubai Phil came in the top 5, no doubt the worlds golfers will get a full run down on how he finished top

Global warming really is happening... (well, duh!)

Of course has the ce reduced by the same amount it would not be seized upon -

Crouch where he shot instead of kicking the ball into the corner against Everton in the relegation season
