well that was some classy unveiling of the new manager.

The way some are building the game up on here it is our cup final
-
Do those pictures not remind you of a local darts club meeting. For the clubs chairman to look like that is pretty poor. The advert screen at the back has been hastily been put up,with no care at all, the Pay Up Pompey flag not even hanging correctly, and as for the Nissan hut/ church hall where they held the meeting!!!

Nice selective positioning there, you keep 'field our strongest teams' moaning to only games we lose it seems. Any victory with a weakened side is of course what you expect and is casually forgotten. Now you have changed it to finish high in the league and win the FA cup, the league cup is now forgotten Lol. Your position WAS that we must try and win all competitions, therefore to do so you need to play your strongest side in all games, as no team is a pushover. Therefore if you had your way we would still be in the League cup, high i the league and then take on all in the FA cup. If we were on that course i suspect you might concede that at present the club does not have a deep enough squad to cope. I await your normal reply of sarcasm and bile, with no understanding that there is another side to these things

How many points did they need to avoid relegation that season? I had the feeling that that game was a relegation 6pointer. Looks like we will need to be handing out some more keys for the freedom of the city for that one. Is that right Mack?

do you really believe that we can do well in the league eg finish top 10 ,and also field our strongest teams in all the cup games. I don't know if you fomented on us fielding weakened teams in the earlier rounds. Therefore the first 11would have to play another 10 games in our pressing style. To me that sounds mad,

The Royal Horseguards, the old Liberal club opposite the London eye. Just a minute or so walk to Trafalgar Square and 5 minutes from Waterloo. Don't pay for a river view, get a room on the back where it is so quiet you think you are in the country. I have had some fantastic deals off the internet for a room there. Walk out for meals, the breakfasts are about 25 quid!

I concede, you are correct

The Yanks stayed out of the war until it looked like their big business interests were likely to lose their money we owed them. They basically bled us dry and then came in late. So it is pretty lame an American talking to us about it. You have to go back and sit how the people felt at the time, we were still licking our wounds after the First World War and the nation were happy to appease in the hope that Hitler was not as some worried he was. Had the British and French been move aggressive then Hitler would have been reined in. Sadly we appeased and the rest is history. We did not go in too early, as Hitler would have got stronger earlier and history could have been so different

on one thing we agree, top ten is not beyond us in fact I will say top 8. We have walk before we can run and so we need to establish ourselves before going on cup crusades unless we get a plum route.

if yo u learnt to read you'd might take in that I said. I don't think we would be relegated. As for my point about Pompey robbing other teams fans taking their kids to a cup final is correct, as the difference is they cheated to get there at the expense of other teams who were playing to the rules. Thus robbing those people of taking their kids to a final. As as for whining you are the person on here who has the most whining moaning attitude, never taking on another persons views, at Alpine does listen. If we were likely to get to a final then I'd be up for it, but the chances of beating Chelsea and one of the other top teams over 2 legs is highly unlikely.1 of them perhaps but not both with our squad. As for a wet blanket, I suppose you are now in the happy flappy camp as you are naively believing we can not only sustain our league form but also become a world beating cup team.

where are all the , 'we should have played our best team against Sunderland' voices now. This is what people were warning of,injuries and suspensions due to too many games especially with our style of football
-
its a bit like phone sex without knowing what Bear looks like. Iam thinking Amy (im a Celeb) or Cindy Crawford wheras it is probably Olive lookalike from on the Buses......oh ffs Bearsy a bloke
-
what's the reclaim our club. It was never a club that embraced it fans unless you were a mate. Fans who were in with the directors etc would get complimentary tickets and drinks Etc but. I doubt there is many fans who got many perks over the years.i know I was only ever a mug punter and cash ow in the owners eye for the last 44 years. So there is no difference for me
-
It must be hard realising that Bearsy is popular with most on the forum. Losing him is a disaster for the smile factor
-
Lol true.
-
its a free world, but I suspect there are two sides to the story. Making the spat public will not get any of the authors any future favours. The club hold the cards and i doubt the people involved did not know of the conflict and perhaps may have used a bit of common sense.

So you thought the way we play was tiring but then follow up with we forfeited our place in the cup. The type of football we play aka high energy got us where we are, and you find fault but then moan when we took the correct measure of not playing our full strength team in a cup match that we were unlikely to end up winning. You cant have it all ways. For your info i also pointed out Tony Adams comments about us plummeting around Xmas as we could not sustain the energy needed. i put that on the after match reaction to the Sunderland cup defeat. i got a few sarcastic replies from a few who thought the Cup was winnable

not saints related at present and the thread is nothing to do with the upcoming game but the thoughts on another teams manager, no relevance IMO

Persaint must be a Skate
-
Saints related? General sports surely

I wouldnt stop buying at the club shop in some hissy fit as the club needs its income to improve our club.
