again in genereal were good last season but we have lost 2 of our pacey unpredictable players and our main goalscorer is in a drought. You cannot rely on 1 man to get you 30 goals a season
-
yep and 2 of those have not been replaced another not able to play 90 minutes

yep @I have a call from Southampton they have offered £1m pound for our c/f,, oh and Brighton have offered 500k' 'take the 500k as they gave us free drinks' I suspect we expect reciprocal treatment when we go away, paying your own way and no hangers on. That is my viewing of the situation. I noticed that NC gave the MKDons chairman a glowing reference and so they may also be on the same wavelength regarding how things should change,I expect Hearn would also be of the same mind. -
Yes there were pictures done and a very good DVD, with a very good hard hitting managers interview.............. and one by Phil. It was a limited edition DVD, very rare and valuable. Its value is as much as a years membership on here

wasnt there some talk of the man who bought man city being involved somewhere?Thaksinatwa

very symmetrical as well, gone are the days that they stood with their mates. Looks like we have a case of a photographer with OCD

it would have been with his squad though

Old practices that to an non-footballing person seem mad. I doubt he has much in common with most Chairman of the lower league clubs, he probably thinks they are not worth much of his time, and small change as they voted for the PL extra parachute money to get few thousand more every year. That in the long run will cost clubs with ambition like ours from getting back to the PL. I know 100% that the Bournemouth people are very unhappy at the way they were treated earlier in the season, they were put in one of the normal matchday lounges (Mick Channon suite ??? carvery) and were not given the normal nicities that are normally provided. The bar bill was a massive surprise (£138 not the reported amount) idont wish for our club to look like pariahs and Im sure that Saints new ethos of paying your own tab will not be shied away from when our people are charged likewise when we travel away.ML paid for his tickets and the business model seems to be 'no freebies'period -
but it worked last season on the PL and so they think it will again. A level playing field is not signing 20k a week players for the CCC

I did, it got a good one of you 3, our 2 goal hero of the forum match is in there as well and OOHTerry

well if he is in the reserves he won't be able to. MLT and all the other stars we have had, had dry periods. Fans knocking him won't help his confidence. The last 2 games I have seen RL he has been desperately unlucky not to score.Last night his shot that thundered against the bar was showing how his fortunes have changed. I never have thought that he was a centre forward that outjumps centre halves, but one with a brain who makes space and scores goals.Stop RL and you stop saints, that is what other teams know is the case.
-
WC don't be daft. RL is going through a difficult time but last night he was very unlucky not to score. As soon as he does he will bang them in for fun again. He needs some decent balls into him to feed off.
-
I saw him as well but OohTerryHurlock didn't moan the whole game
-
How many of them were sent off for trying to point the fact out?
-
were you the one singing 'winning in the rain'? If the keeper dives the right way he does improve his chances of saving it, but you have to factor in that the taker just does not kick the ball but also tries to make the keeper go the wrong way. I recall years ago Shilton said that he waited for the ball to be hit before trying to save it. He had an appalling record for doing so. it was then shown that if you try and wait the ball is in the net before you can react.
-
Come on own up, how long did it take you to work out where to stand?

Just how/why did pre-season turn into such a shambles ?
OldNick replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Leftback obviously has some connection to the club. I wonder if he still is there though, as NC will not take kindly to these posts and Iam certain he will be aware of them. The person will be part of a small group of people who know all these events and will be found pretty quickly. Somebody quite young perhaps. I missed the bit about Corteses wife and sister, can anyone enlighten me to that event. -
Unusually knee jerk by you LeGod.It would be interesting to see with the results that AP had last season how many games Antonio and Waigo played. They were a big difference, and an asset that NA has not at his disposal. NA is not my choice ( Howe was and still would be)but he is our man and so i back him. Watching last night was boring. We shift the ball across the midfield, not sharply but in a pedestrian way. That gives the opposition so much time to re-organise,.Only when Guly was in centre mid and AL was linking with RL and Punch did we look a potent force. in fact the last 10 made me feel we did have some quality and that with a bit of confidence we may improve. It comes to something when you are not confident of beating Bournemouth at home, in 40 + years............
-
it was a comment not worthy of reply. Davis was sent the wrong way, if he had stayed on his feet the player would have put it either side.It was a well taken pen

we are weaker than at this stage last season. Our squad does not have the pace and un-predictability it had. Barnard and Lambert do not have the pace to run away from a defence and so they can push up, having Antonio at the shoulder etc causes its own set of problems. Antonio is the past but we MUST get similar in to give us the edge. Lambert will start scoring again, but we have to accept this squad now is not going to get us promotion.
-
A laboured performance. We shift the ball too slowly and whilst methodical there is no zip. AL came on and RL became our centre forward again, he seems to enjoy linking with AL. KD had a poor game for his high standards, looked quite unsettled. Super goal with Morgan doing what he should every game, by driving towards goal and laying off the ball for Guly to beautifully put the ball away. All those fans who dont rate Guly will eat their words. IMO NA made a mistake putting him wide, only after they equalised did he bring him infield and then he was everywhere. Once he adapts to English football he will be a super player for us. We were undone by a long ball and Seaborne who was good made a rash tackle instead of letting their forward take a shot from a bit of an angle. Jaidi was strong although doesnt seem to be able to head straight. Overall we could/should have won a great turn out of fans but the open end made it difficult for the fans to make a noise. Dont park in the away fans car park, we were there an hour trying to get out, add to that the sat nav playing up. KD 4 DH 7 DB 5 DS 6 RJ 7 MS 8 DH 7 JP 7 OC 6 LB 6 RL 7 AL 8 GDP 8.5

As Basil Fawlty would say 'No riff-raff' and I agree keep the rabble out if they can't pay £5, let them go on the UI and enjoy working out how to use that site, it is all a mess to me.

Hypothetical Question about house ownership...
OldNick replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Lounge
Are you sure about that, as that is a major loophole for avoiding death duties. Eg a house could be gifted in installments. i can't see that being allowed, and why would there be a maximum gift allowed if that is the case? -
Steve reading that makes you wonder why they took on Lawrence and Kitson. Thats 40k a week alone. I can't see any other business taking this route, perhaps they have got away with it for so long they really do feel they are immune. And Hughes on more than Nugent FFS

oops yes you are of course right but i was thinking this was about saving tax. If it was so easy to avoid tax I doubt there would be thousands of tax accountants looking for ways around the system
