I was told, (not sure if it is true)that the BA staffs contracts were from 1947. If true then how can that be correct for 2010? I understand why they want to keep their perks, but they should understand if they want the company to be there in 10 or 20 years time they have ot make the changes. IMO they have little support from the public as a whole. They have taken the wrong route and sadly the union leaders always come across as militant uncouth oafs, who only seem to be able to bully.
  2. Are you the one who hung the flag up? If so I asked you what TOSSA and Coleslaw meant
  3. reading that makes me sick. If food was on sale (I didnt see any, but I left at about 11)I think it would have been pretty risky to try any, after seeing the toilets and state of the place. I had given NI the benifit of the dubt that he hadn't known the state of the place. As he had been there before i feel fairly cheesed off with him. I await a response from him.
  4. good one
  5. Good, I have not seen any post on this thread or any other defending the venue or its promotion. As for the loos, the floors were deep in fluid, my best hope was that it was water
  6. Trousers, for the return of £60 (6 tickets)I dont think I'll bother. Sadly, if as I have read that NI had indeed been to the premises it saddens me.Foolishly I and a lot of others fell for the stuff in the Echo and on the COYR website.Having a well known fully fledged and committed Saints fan, who I believe is always well intentioned, involved in this gave me confidence. We left at 7am to get there for its advertised opening 9am. On arrival our hearts sunk. 20k for that!!! now I know renting places in London is expensive but even Peter storrie could not fall for that fee.
  7. BBC doing what they did when we close to going into oblivion, talking about a missing cat that time
  8. Labour deserve to inherit the mess they have caused. Sadly the country is badly damaged and we have nobody in any political party who has the ****** to grab the nettle
  9. better than South Today who havent even mentioned it yet. No Dinage on Meridian who did a decent feature to be fair
  10. To be fair if I and others had any idea it would be like it is they would not sell any tickets. Personally I felt that the way it was advertised, it looked a good place to start the day off. I can only assume that NI had not seen the venue, if not then Im sure the damage it does to him is more than earning himself a few grand.
  11. I voted Harding as MotM as he was up against thier best player. Fonte was superb and then the whole team did well. The first 10 minutes we looked edgy and Carlisle most likely to score, but a superb cross from Antonio and we got the penalty. From there we were comfortable, but i did not like the way we played after our fourth. Sitting back instead or giving us more excitement. I found the last 30 minutes an anti climax. Great day and as per normal with these things a lot of my memories will be the journey up, seeing all the cars decked out in colours, and Fleet being full of happy saints.Forgetting the Silverspoon everything else was superb. A word for the Carlisle fans, i thought they were a good bunch and only let themselves down by leaving and not watching the presentation ceremony etc.
  12. I found them offputting, especially in the first half
  13. those are good
  14. the bit in the Echo had us thinking it was a top event. We went up with my daughter nepthew and niece who hadn't tickets. Telling them that it would be good and that they could stay there and watch the game with other fans who alos didnt have tickets. There was no way I was leaving them there, and so we went and got them some tickets from fans. Thanks to the fan in the club who came and offered us a ticket at face value (i think he was from Watford way) but not so happy with the so called Saints fan who sold my brother 2 at £50 each (face value £34) as they ought to get something for their trouble after initially wanting £100 a pop. I would have let them keep them and see them lose their money.
  15. Please call me Avram when you are replying thankyou
  16. Oh no not another player gone from my team. I only ask for the game to be settled on the pitch, a level playing field and no interference from outside. I want the football authorities to help me best as I can. Can you loan me your best midfielder, I promise he won't score
  17. We purchased tickets for the Silverspoon pre match yesterday. Personally we were (6 of us) disappointed and left after an hour. What a dump. We arrived at 9.30 (doors supposed to open at 9) There were frantic efforts being made to tidy and clean. (This is not a pop at Nick Illingsworth) Perhaps as we were some of the first 100 or so in we saw the conditions and state of the place we were more critical. 2 hookers standing outside with their 'men' was not the start of the day I expected. Whether im getting old and grumpy (but even the 20years with us wanted to go, and found the volume of the music almost unbearable let alone the mixing of the music) but it was very disappointing . Did any others from here go in there and pay thier £10 and also disappointed or did it get better later?
  18. If what has been predicted on here (the club folding or being sent to the BSL) it must be galling for the Skates to know that a large percentage of their grandchildren or great grandchildren will be Saints fans in the future. I know they wont have it, but I know that it would be the case if the same had happened to Saints last season for ours. I await all the gnashing of teeth to the contrary, but a large slice of both teams fans want to see winning successful teams and the kids will turn their heads to us longterm. Pompey is a flashback to the past, a nostalgic look when the cities with black smoke coming out of chimney stacks, whippets and flat capped football fans standing in decrepid conditions and when the working man was happy to put up with it. Saints will be the modern streamlined club that, the new youth will want to be associated with and like the miners ,the fathers wont like their kids going down the pit, but want to be better themselves and grudingly accept life has moved on and Pompey were the past. Hers's to the future
  19. Thanks, but Iwas talking to someone who went to a cup final and said he had to wait 2 1/2hours to get on the tube after the game!!!!!
  20. wish I was entitled, sadly self employed earn nothing during sick days and holiday/leisure time. Strangley enough the self employed dont have many sick days. perhaps all the public services should be made self employed, that might make the sick days the Government want to reduce happen
  21. isnt it a transfer? if a loan fee then it is madness...but it is pompey
  22. we are going up at about 7. Is there parking near the stadium, we haven't booked?
  23. Your quote was a classic type of comment I always had in any team I played with. It was characters that made the team spirit. You should join our cricket team you'd fit right in
  24. You make it sound easier than i thought. Nice that you are positive and seem to believe it is possible, keep it up
