  1. I can see that is true, but fans also take on board what people say. We can help break down the negativity by being more positive about the football when speaking to the waverers, if we reinforce the negatives they are more likely not to go. I agree the football has not been scintillating but it has been very attractive at times, but at the end of the day people want to be associated to success and unless we go on a winning run it will be difficult to bring the fans back
  2. Fans should remember that the club will be here after RL or anyone else, but for that to happen they have to rally behind the club now at the moment of greatest need. All those fans who have banged on about RL taking money etc etc etc have in their own little way helped in the fans drift away. Some will say that they have no bearing on it, but IMO the fans who spend time on here in the main make saints a major part of their lives and are the fans who the first thing they are asked about when they go to pubs or clubs is about the situation. I can say that happens to me, whether socially or at business. So the thoughts our transmitted to the wider fanbase and many of the part time fans take on these thoughts whether they should go or not.If they are told 'its c### and it's like watching the reserves but at top money' many will think I'll not bother wheras if we were more positive and perhaps gave the opinion of 'its great to watch the youngsters grow and we are playing good football' some may think yes lets go along. It may be too simple but it does have a small ripple effect. This site is a good example, the constant negativity has made a lot of the average fans find other places to put their views up and now dont log on or just dont bother reading it anymore as it is depressing.
  3. to rely on away fans to bolster the gate is no good. Although the money does go into our coffers. The whole club needs an injection of hope and enthusiasm to take us forward. A decent win will help but with a young team you always get stop start and so you never know which team is likely to turn up. Watford are the type of team that we all worry that our young players might not cope with.I hope they can stand up and be counted and their undoubted team spirit will bring them through
  4. Thats good i like that name, Norris it is.You and thickmick will be getting married when, I do hope we are all invited.
  5. I quite like the name Norris, thanks. You Skates are amusing.
  6. you go and join with your Skate mate, you have a lot in common. You have more in common with him than me. Corp's Ho Siding with a Skate what are things coming to
  7. Hey Slickmick Corp ho is on line shouldnt you be holding hands?winky thing
  8. No I dont think that Nick Nack is abuse its just smarmy stuff that you are noted for. Pay your £5 and then I would understand the moderators putting up with you on the main board. At present you are not contributing to the runnng costs of the site but also infringing rules that you know are part of Skates coming on here. It's very easy, you have rules to be allowed to post if you dont follow them you are supposed to get infractions or banned. Daren has kept his powder dry and not responded fair play to him, I dont know if he is violent or not but I doubt if face to face you'd risk saying any of what you do from the safety of behind the computer. Anyway you have wasted 1 of your 3 posts on me, so we only have to put up with 2 more.
  9. they are doing well 1500, with 5 posts and 1 of those from a Saints fan giving them a bit of jip

  22. This has been the rumour for months, and was supposed to have been ready to run a few weeks back but stalled. I was hearing it from what I thought were quite good sources but it surprised them and me as it didnt materialise.
  23. Anythoing that you dont agree with are seen as blind dogma but dont realise you spout more of it that the rest put together
  24. Hey Greenridge that is not fair.If a poster is being challenged on the open site why not post back?
  25. Im glad you have pulled back in your tone and appreciate that. The word fact is not a figure of speech but a way of reinforcing an arguement as there is no other arguement. There is nothing wrong with having high expectations but with those you have to factor all things in, and until fans do they will forever be disappointed.Yes 7m is a lot of money to invest but you also have to take into account the level of fan expectation, the boardroom squabbles and players leaving or not gelling as quickly as we would have expected. I can hold my hand up and say I was reserved about the furore about us signing Rudi as I had never seen him play and it was on the back of a good season at Hearts. The fans were baying to sign him , and he has been a terible disappointment.Rasiak was a goalscorer but he took away from other areas of the team and the day he fought with Surman to take the penalty he lost a lot of fans respect. Saga was another who we set high standards of but as soon as he got his contract he never seemed the same again. I was meaning Bale when I said about the young player sorry if I confused things by not naming him but took it people would have relised who it was i was alluding to. Now of course it could be now said that they were Gb's fault for signing them but at first 2 of the 3 looked fair signings. I think Gb did a fair job and under the circumstances he did well but he will not go down as one of my favourite managers, but they are few and far between in the all the years I have watched Saints. I have defended him as he has been unjustly treated by fans who have slurred (bad choice of words) him and made accusations thatr have never come into the open press which is amazing if true.
