Yep.I regretted it as soon as I posted to be honest. I was shocked and quite taken aback, (I am also being Corporatly audited, which doesn't help). I think I was just trying to let people out there know that we don't have to worry about the club. Also, I would like to add that another Saint went marching in last night. Thanks to DBM for his apology, and DSM for editing my post, and stopping me coming across as a heartless twot. I hadn't realised my membership wasn't self renewing, so I couldn't edit it myself.

Scary as it may sound, I am starting to like you Alps. Either you're mellowing or I'm becoming a misable bastard in my old age. And I would be Honoured as it is a Great idea. WIFM

I can tell you exactly what happens next. Marcus legacy will be passed to whom ever is in his will as the benificiary. They will look at us and ask if we are a decent going concern. They will see a decent club, with a solid 5 year plan, of whihc we are in year 2, with decent revenue streams and a good chance of giving back a decent revenue return in the future. They will speak to NC and see what his vision is and if he can prove what he says. They will then (ahem) decide NOT to sell us as we are worth more beign developed than sold of for our component parts. We will still have a club to support, with plenty cash to back us up AS LONG as we show we will give a good return. Just image this. NC will have to do a Dragons Den run with the board and hope none of them say ' I'm out'.

Or how about if you support the Sun and the Echo, but don't buy either, you start buying them from now on!!!!!!!!

Or be brave enough, a maverick if you will, to pioneer something that everyone will be doing in a few years. After all, who introduced shirt sponsorship?
-
hang on a minute. So by banning photographers from the SMS we are stopping the advertsing in the press of a sponsor on our shirts that we ahven't got anyway because we don't need one. Okay.

Case in point. Four years ago and Contracts manager left us and took 8 highly paid members of staff to work for a local south coast outfit. The said outfit was then bought by a BIG international construction company. Of the 8 staff that left to go there, 6 were laid off, the 7th transfered to the the Big Parent and the 8th has just come back to work for us, (as my boss of all things). Never stops moaning about how it all changed and how **** it was even though: a) He left to go there of his own volition b) for **** loads of money c) he's come back into a better position that he had when he was here first, or that he would ave been promoted into in the time d) He don't work for them any more. Remember, the sqeekiest wheel gets the grease. we only hear the moans of the two disgruntled employees, not the silent contentment of the two thousand. philosopher in a former life Even I have missed my calling as a writer of greeting cards, or I was a Chinease Philosopher in a former life

I take on board what you are saying, and can see the merit in your argument. BUT When we DO get to the Premiership and we say to them they can only buy our offical sanctioned photos which is best? Option a) We only introduce it when we get to the premiership and cause us a lot more pain and anger, especially as they say that we are a big headed little team and look at the big 4 who DON'T do it Or Option b) When they winge we say, 'Hey. this is what we have always done.Been doing it for 3/4/5 years now' And maybe find that the big 4 are already doing it.
-
Yeh, but it's not like we can't afford it. Markus will just not be able to buy another Ivory back scratcher

Phil. look out of your window. Do you see two dusky maidens and a dark skinned feller walking by? If the answer is YES then we must be in the same place.
-
Isn't it about time Barnard scored? He's always scoring on Fifa 2010!!!!
-
Phil, I'm in Dagenahm. Is that anywhere near you?

Came through on my phone first before I got here. I was afraid to look. Still want another two to kill them off and give me bragginbg rights.

Well F me, this is more like it, a good debate................... Although I agree in part, I think we need to concentrate on a few games with Rickie on the Bench, I dont think we are as toothless as you say. We have a good squad on paper and time to improve. I know what you mean about two months but WHO is the big question. how do we know there weren't a number of who's who were WAY too expensive, (thanks to the agents) or turned out to be crap after being scouted, or who were being watched at the WC and failed to impress? we don't know. But we do know we still have time and losing a few wont hurt us. Hopefully it'll take some of the pressure off, and I think they need that. Today, I mostly disagree with Alpine, but do concede some points. ............................oh, and it's All Nicolas fault........................sorry, force of habit.

Right, I'm going to say this just once, and if it doesn't get through I'll start another thread with it on. The most virralent of posters that come on here, and we all know who they are as they have a notoriety going back years, lets be honest, are not makiing this point and are disagreeing with the NC bashing. And me, being a logical, almost on the borders of a Valcan, look at the half glass and see it's full, slightly on the happy clappy side, but is also happy having a good moan agrees with the reckless, illogical, look at the half glass and see it's empty, suicidal depressive, who as far as I remember have always been contentious and contrary.................. Don't you all think that 11 thousand threads started by 11 people all saying NC is a git, may get the point at some stage that: a) We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, disagree b) That on the next thread, We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, still disagree c) that on the previous threads We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, have always disagreed d) No matter how you change it, the title, the start, the information from inside the camp, We, the silent majority, the swinish multitude, will always disagree, because nothing you have said over a miilion times before has changed our minds, and never will. No matter how much you repeat it. Please post something new to change our minds. try a winning thought out argument for a change without resorting to name calling. We don't mind him, at the moment, you see. Us lot, the rest of the people here. We don't like some of what he's done, but we still don't mind. We just want to win the football game. that is all. And occasionally some Pompey baiting, but mostly just football. Try a different tact. Post about who you think will score the most goals before Xmas. Or if you think we should try a different formation. Post about what you would like the Southampton style to be, or if you think we should drop Ricky to the bench for a few games and learn to do without him, instead of as at the moment, being forced to do without him, before it happens again. That would be a nice subject for the Post or two.

i don't know. Thought he did a cracking bit on why the American Revolution was really a British Civil War, contrary to American history and the fact they are very revisionist on the French part in it. Wasn't he offered a chair at Cambridge, but turned it down for Sandhurst as his heart is in military rather than classical history? It is a good point about why stay at Cranfield. Very strange. Maybe he is in actual fact an MK Dons fan? Nah, can't see it. Want to make up some rumours about it, miltonaggro? Still think he's a saints fan, though.
