Not sure he'd be welcome. The Beano was a quality publication whereas the Mail... You decide.

I said on another post that the likely path is as much of the corporate world. Punish the innocent, reward the guilty and deputy heads will roll.
  3. I don't know if it has been posted elsewhere, but BBC Sport now reporting the FA are investigating. I'm sure the internal investigation will punish the innocent, reward the guilty and deputy heads will roll.
  4. There will be no apology or comment until the appeal has concluded.

    Sport Republic

Unlikely to see anything until the appeal has finished.
  6. There's a lot on here about the severity of the club's punishment and comparisons with other club's misdemeanours. However, I've seen nothing about Saints breaking the 11th commandment; "thou shalt not get caught". I'm sure similar things happen across the football world; they just haven't been caught.
  7. On the whole, it was a trouble free day. I met plenty of Mancs on the train and in the pub before the match. It was all very good natured tinged with a bit of natural rivalry. Yes, there were some idiots who'd had too much alcohol or marching powder or both, but both sets of supporters had a good day out.
  8. The commentary I had said after the second goal, Bazunu won't want to see that again. Weak hands. Sound familiar?
  9. Attendance was just over 13,000.

If it was muted, it's probably why no-one on here has heard. I'm sure we'll be told eventually.
  11. Thanks, my mistake.
  12. Enjoyed seeing his goals in the highlights and he shows promise for the future. Can someone please tell Jo Tessem, the lad's name is not Matski?
  13. Play-offs have nothing to do with clubs, players fans. They are all about money. The old system was fair and rewarde merit. Bottom 3 down, top 3 up.
  14. The current fashion of appointing a head coach rather than a manager is the cause of such malaise. On the whole they are not man managers, leaving the players rudderless. They also have little or no control over signings. Add to that the fact we have no real leadership on the pitch and you have much of the real reasons we are in our current situation.
  15. I saw the Macclesfield game earlier and it was clear from the start that they had a determination about them. I have no idea whether or not it's down to management, coaching or something else. They were inspired by the lad Dawson who, apart from goal scoring and defending, was a leader on the pitch. Something we lacked yesterday and for some time before that. Sign him up.
  16. One evening in 1963 when on holiday from boarding school, being taken by my dad to see Saints against ? on the west stand terrace. I was cold, wet and bored as football was alien to me. At some point, Terry Paine blasted a ball which hit me. From that moment I was Saints to the core and apparently I refused to let my jacket be cleaned. The stain from the ball was going back to school with me.
  17. Sad news indeed when one of your club's icons dies. I remember seeing him numerous times at the Dell and was impressed by his combination of skill and raw power. It's disappointing that the club appears not to have made any public tribute him.
  18. A wing back who will not try to go past an opponent, but instead plays the ball backwards. As for his defensive duties, I can only assume that he believes the Covid pandemic is still in full swing as he seems to hold to the instructions to stay at least 2 metres apart.
  19. Skates 1-0 down at Swansea
  20. Apparently Newcastle are interested in James Trafford in January. Would that mean a timely return for Ramsdale?
  21. Peter Osgood went there as player/coach.

    Will Still

What, pat him off and then reemploy him? What sort of idiots would do that? Oh, wait a minute. This is Sport Republic we're talking about.

Sport Republic, and plenty other club owners, seem incapable of recruiting for vital staff, players and coaches. The litany of poor and failed managers here and elsewhere is testimony to that. How to correct that before yet another nail in the coffin, I'm not sure.
  24. Oh well, at least Totton are 3-2 up at Macclesfield in the cup.
