So we get even less rest now between the Spurs game and West Brom game? Cheers for that.
-
Got a toffee here at work, he reckons jury still out on RK at the moment. Said they obviously had the good start, but performances have tailed off and they've not really played anyone of note yet (Spurs aside).
-
If they really wanted him, they'd have got him in the summer.
-
Interest seemed to die off pretty sharpish as soon as we played them. His performances so far this season aren't exactly helping his case either.
-
Really don't think Man Utd are actually interested in him to be honest.
-
Yeah you could well be right, though I don't think the tactics were for Martina to be that woeful! Really like Cuco but he was pants today (2 crosses second half aside).
-
How the full backs play seems to define how good we are going forward. Targett I don't think got in their half all match and Martina was woeful. Stark contrast to last weekend.
-
Long doesn't make our strongest once everyone's fit. Couldn't trap a bag of cement.
-
As you well know, football doesn't work like that.

Tough ask, especially with the champions away next up. Forster, Martina, Targett, Yoshida, Clasie, JWP & Long to definitely start. Wouldn't mind Hesketh being given another run out in place of Tadic. Start Romeu as well, as he'll have the international break as a rest period. Toss up between Fonte or VVD, would probably lean towards Fonte as think he needs the games. Undecided on Austin... on the one hand he's in lethal form and seems silly not to try and keep the run going, but on the other don't want to burn him out. I'd probably start Redmond and try and hit them on the break.

Saints beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in EFL Cup. Sunderland at home next

I noticed this - understand he is frustrated that he missed (again), but to have your back to play kicking a goalpost, when the ball is still alive is pretty poor. -
Pretty much how Vardy won most of his penalties last year.

What's the point in "arguing" with you? People have challenged your opinions with reasoning and you've told them their wrong, so difficult to have a debate when you won't listen to others. FWIW, I'd read Tajjuk's post if you want to read something logical.

Half of what you say has no substance, tbh.

Martina has to be first choice. Really don't see anything to be excited about with Cedric. Lightweight, reluctant to get forward and when he does, his crosses either end up out for a throw (or in the stand) or hitting the first man. Maybe this will be the year he comes good, but nothing so far this season suggests anything different to last year. Still not really sure why he was given a new contract either, done nothing as of yet to deserve it.
-
Totally agree, you can see Long in particular is cutting a very frustrated figure. Even on that burst from Hojbjerg where he almost backheeled in Redmond, Long was sprinting on his right side which surely should have been the ball?
-
Cazorla, sending the keeper the wrong way and comfortably scoring, is a poor penalty? Right'o.
-
Just because he has hit a couple down the middle after the keeper has dived, people get their flap on.
-
Every single one has been poor, yet he's only missed one for us? Do me a favour. Think we've been spoilt for penalty takers in the past with MLT, Rickie and Beattie.

Saints beat Sparta 3-0: Post-Match Ecstasy
ErwinK1961 replied to Hamilton Saint's topic in The Saints
Martina has to start the next game, he was quality. Long needs a goal, reminds me of when he first joined. Not a lot seeming to fall his way and when it does, his touch is carp. Massive lol's at JWP, thought he was going to lamp that dirty b*stard before he realised he's not that hard. Can we have this ref every week? Thought he and his officials were excellent (penalty aside). -
Haha, brilliant! Score more, concede less... we'll have this cracked in no time
-
You're strange.

It's not that simple though. Most penalties that go down the middle are where the keepers on the move already. Otherwise they would aim for a corner.
