Agree with this - considering how long he had been out for, I thought he looked extremely assured. Admittedly his final balls needs a fair bit of work, but I think he's a lot better than people are saying. That's not to say it wouldn't be a downgrade if we sold Bertrand and Targett was first choice.

For me, the cup games (semi and final) showed what we could do with everyone performing to their maximum and not sure we've seen that from everyone since. Not saying all players, some will give 100% no matter what. But no chance everyone has given it everything for the cause - whether that's down to Puel and the formation is another question. You are right in that if Puel stays he needs to be given the players he wants to fit his system. I get the feeling though he won't be here, too much unrest with the fan base to overcome.

Because it's cheaper to sack a manager then buy a load of new players. In all seriousness, of course the manager has a responsibility to motivate the players, however the players have a responsibility to perform and be professional. Something some of ours lads can't say they have done.

First time since administration that I wouldn't be bothered in the slightest if our manager left. To be fair though, I don't think he's necessarily been given the best hand to succeed, with injuries to key players and having been stitched a bit in both transfer windows. I also think some of the players need to take a look at themselves. Yes, of course of the manager needs to be able to motivate etc, but you can't tell me many of the players in recent weeks/months have been giving their all. They showed in the cup matches what they can do if they really wanted to. However, some of the tactics in recent matches have been bizarre. When he's made subs, they've made no impact other than given impetus to the opposition. There's been a few too many performances, especially at home, which just haven't been anywhere near good enough and unless we have a revamp of tactics/style, I cannot see that changing next season. If I was making the decision, I'd get rid at the end of the season - however I fully anticipate he will still be here. The only caveat to that is if Koeman was as close to the sack midway through last season as alleged, I cannot see how the board will accept the limp end to this season we are having.
