Lis is staying at Goztepe I heard. The only acceptable means to keep McCarthy is as a number 2 on a cheap 1 year deal, Lumley as 3 and then get a new GK in to play next season. If McCarthy plays next season as number 1 then may as well not bother.

This is one of the ‘head over heart’ decisions that I am hoping the club are ruthless on this summer. He’s been a good servant, but he’s blown hot and cold for a number of years now, he’s getting on and is currently injured. It’s a position I was hoping we could upgrade this summer if we’re serious at making a stab of staying up. Filling Staplewood with a load of ‘he’s good to have around’ players will mean we end up with a bloated, bang average squad that will come straight back down.

I think the only team stupid enough to pay £30m would be Chelsea, and even they aren’t that stupid to buy a player they already own.. or are they.

Also, isn’t he classed as ‘home grown’ so anything he gets sold for counts 100% against their FFP targets? Same reason that Connor Gallagher was touted to be sold. I’d maybe take Broja on a loan should Adams leave, on the proviso that we also signed another striker.

Just listened to a segment where they were talking about the ‘5 rules’ that are in place for a new manager at Man Utd. One of those rules is the style of play is being set by the technical director… Mr Wilcox. We know RM has his preferred style of play, but I wonder if the tactical flexibility he has shown during crunch time is because he isn’t being dictated to by a DOF? Probably giving too much credit, but thought it was interesting.

Lallana didn’t refuse to train, he was at the World Cup until late June and joined Liverpool on 1st July. Ings doesn’t give two shits about Saints, if you meet him he’ll tell you that. Anyway, I’m not keen on a Lallana return, but it’s a hard no on Ings.

Those giving Lallana a hard time about how he left, Ings’ departure wasn’t much better. He had a club record contract ready for him to sign for 12 months, which he refused and then left at the first viable opportunity. He’s also done absolutely fck all since, got more injured and his only good season came in that purple patch with us. Ings would be a terrible signing.

Hard to know what to make of this, until we know the details of the deal. But yeah if he’s coming in as a proper first team signing and taking up a squad place, then it’s a no from me.

I don’t think Flynn can be anything but coy at the moment - nothing is agreed and even if he’d love to stay he can’t say that at the moment in case he ends up staying at West Ham or goes somewhere else. KWP more of a concern, had hoped promotion would possibly convince him to sign an extension, but doesn’t sound like it.
