I somehow completely missed the fact the Sheff United had hired Selles. How did he land himself that job? That’s his third managers role since leaving us 2 years ago, doesn’t exactly bode well for them does it. Some other predictior I saw earlier also has us down finishing 1st, which as much as I’d love I really can’t see being close to correct. They had Wednesday finishing 12th which says it all really.

Loved Kachloul, he was a decent player for us, particularly in that great escape season of 98-99. As mentioned he also played a huge part in our final game at the Dell, I was gutted why lost him to Villa in the following weeks.
-
Hopefully we go for whoever is willing to give us the most up front. You know Everton and Spurs especially will have loads of caveats to unlock so that we get the full transfer fee. Cost us very little, and that money could buy 3 or 4 decent players for this league. Whether it gets used that way is another story of course.

https://sportwitness.co.uk/hasnt-been-reassuring-club-end-southampton-players-loan-early-saints-have-decision-to-make/ Sudinfo also report the Republic of Ireland international has left Standard Liège earlier than expected. The two clubs maintain a good relationship due to Moussa Djenepo’s sale to the Saints in 2023. This helped the Jupiler Pro League side to sign Bazunu on loan without a purchase option. The report says the Southampton man’s arrival stopped Matthieu Epolo’s development at Standard Liège. Bazunu played eight games, keeping one clean sheet and conceding 15 goals. Sudinfo say he ‘hasn’t been reassuring at all’ since he arrived in Belgium, meaning the stopper wasn’t convincing.

Gav went on to repay this faith in him by becoming the statically worst keeper in the league that season. I really don’t get our fans, the ones that stick up for him or are happy to settle for average at best. The bloke admittedly through no fault of his own got thrown in at the deep end when he was signed, and was statically the worst keeper in the Prem, then we got relegated and he was the worst keeper in the league the following season, then he misses most of last season due to injury but does have an utterly disastrous loan spell to Belgium, and here we are less than a week before the season and he’s getting 7/10 ratings and people claiming he’s good enough for us and this league. Mediocrity at its finest, he’s gash, and it’s a matter of time till we’re all questioning whether he’s costing us games. The bloke is going to melt against the skates, we can all see it coming, and as has been posted already rivals teams are signing decent solid keepers at a fraction of the price he cost us.

Fingers crossed they do by the end of the window.

This is my frustration, Still has been here weeks now and by this time next week we’d have played our first match, and on our preseason showing have lost to a side well and truly on an upward curve. Literally what is our style, what’s he trying to achieve? At least Lego had implemented his game plan by now. Despite all the bollocks from Spors and Solak about making a proper fist of it we look like we’ve gone backwards, and if this isn’t the squad Still wants why is he not banging down their doors to get players in he actually wants.
-
Out of his depth might have been a bit strong, however after a couple of months in the door by now you’d be doing your research, watching old footage and asking those that were around what the strong and weak points of the squad are. If he genuinely believes that Baz, and Stephens are first names on the team sheet then questions deservedly need to be asked. Likewise starting Fraser on the wing.
-
Very much so, and here we are a week from our opening game against a pumped up Wrexham side that everyone not linked to Saints will want them to win, and we’ve looked poor all preseason, and are picking the same shite players expecting a different result.
-
I can only hope, that the reason for this lineup is that we’re waiting to get a few quid in the bank to make signings Still actually wants. If that’s not the case and he thinks this team can compete than already it’s clear he’s both out of his depth, and we won’t be getting promoted this season.

With Season Tickets sales up on 23/24 and a waiting list open with match tickets naturally harder to come by, why are we giving away fans 3000 tickets, a thousand more than we have to which gives them an unnecessary numerical and vocal boost? -

Someone please ask who sanctioned the new contract for Stephens, and how they decided his poor performances were worthy of such a reward? -
Love that black one, was an exciting time to be a saints fan when that was our away kit in 2001 having just moved to St Mary’s, good memories of Beattie, Pahars etc.

Download opera browser, it had a built in vpn for those “ahem” special websites

Sums it up perfectly for me. As did Bobby Gillespie from Primal Scream "Oasis were utterly fantastic last night at Wembley Stadium. "A three guitar wall of sound, nine song high energy opening salvo and Liam Gallagher singing better than ever. "Hit after hit after hit. "Dancing, smiling people everywhere – like being at a cup final with everyone supporting the same team and winning.”
-
Don’t know why the club have given them the full allocation, should be giving ourselves every advantage possible.
-
Why was the bubble never used for the League Cup game back in 2019? A night game and much harder to control that an early league kick off I wonder.
-
It’s funny, and bloody annoying, how much we complain about the lack of 3pm kick offs in the prem, but we still get shafted even in the championship!! Norwich is a shitter, crap journey at the best of times.

Aaron Ramsdale - Official: Loaned to Newcastle
bpsaint replied to Saint Fan CaM's topic in The Saints
It seemed like every challenging shot crisp packet wrists faced that season ended up in a goal to the opposition. Fed up with us insisting on wasting time with these average players instead of just relying on decent solid if unspectacular signings. Think Radhi Jaidi, Dean Hammond and Chaplow back in the day. If we line up against Wrexham with fucking Baz, Stephens and Smallbone starting I’ll slit my wrists. -
-
Went last night, was absolute everything I’d hoped it would be. Saw them a few times pre split including my first ever concert at Finsbury Park and yeah they were great but last night was a whole another level. Was nice to be at a gig these days and the entire crowd turning up to bounce at party rather than stood still watching it through their phones. Only gripe was Columbia not being in the setlist.
-
Can’t say I’ll miss his fucking dopey gormless face looking around for someone to blame every time we concede, although he was ok in the championship and wouldn’t be our worst defender next season. Can we tell Porto we have this fantastic player named Jacko Stephano we’ll chuck in for free as a sweetener.

Williamson is a proper fitty. Nice to listen to a footballer that’s quite articulate too.
-
That poor kid in the medals line up would have been in trouble

God I fucking hope I get to see the men’s team do this before I die.
