  1. I'd happily welcome Nigel back here, but only as part of the coaching set up. I love the bloke and will always be grateful for what we achieved, but Premier League manager he isn't unfortunately.

    Matt Oakley

Indeed, some people only remember the post injury Matt Oakley after he was crocked in 2004 and was never the same player for us. I remember Gordon Strachan was championing him for an England call up around that time too. One of the best attacking centre mids I've seen in a Saints shirt, for those that never saw him play I'd say he was a cross between Gylfi Sigurdsson in shooting ability and Steven Davis in work rate.
  3. Agree with this, would also say with all due to respect to Yoshi, that playing alongside a CB as good as VVD is going to strengthen his game massively. Just hope VVD is here next season...
  4. In most circumstances I'd be happy with a point against United, but the disappointing thing tonight is that they were there for the taking and again we lacked the killer instinct in the final third to finish the job. Anyone that thinks we played **** needs their eyes testing, we were great at the back and getting it through the middle, something just isn't working up top. Think we need a new striker coach to work on that part of our game, to have gone six hours without scoring at home is dreadful. Frustrating that Puel only seems to sub like for like rather than changing the system. Shame that dead ball specialist JWP wasn't standing over that penalty as the mood would probably be a lot different on here, although to assume it would have stayed 1-0 would be foolish. On a side note does anyone know when we last scored from a corner? Never understand the big roar that goes up each time the ref signals for one, only to see our team of short arses out jumped for the ball, assuming it even makes it into the box.
  5. 4-2 to Saints at 80/1 with Skybet, got a feeling in my waters. Either that or I've got the s hits! They have zero to play for in terms of League position, where as we do, and I reckon if we go out there and truly believe we can batter them we will.
  6. Fonte receiving dogs abuse on twitter for not playing the offside trap properly. Shame.
  7. i find that unlikely myself, it should always be the keepers decision whether he comes off his line or not. With a GK the size and build of Forster he should be clattering everyone in his way to get that ball, especially inside his 6 yard box. Given his height and reach he'll get to the ball no probs, even just to punch, and any obstruction would likely result in a foul.

    Les Reed

Post match interview with Koeman on MOTD criticising Barkley for trying to negotiate a move with his agent and not letting the club know what his plans are, what a ****ing hypocrite.
  9. Nodded off 10 minutes into the watching the game earlier so only just seen the highlights on MOTD, positive thoughts are firstly happy to get a win away from home and cracking finishes for both of our goals. Disappointments are missing another penalty, shame to have lost that assurance of Le Tiss, Beatts and Lambert that a goal was assured and frustrating once again that Bamford headed their goal inside the 6 yard box right in front of Forster who should be clearing that, no excuses. How did Caceres and Pied get on today anyone?
  10. Just watched the highlights video of all his Blackburn goals, couple of things I noted. Firstly he seems to have gained a yard of pace, and some of those finishes were very clinical. Secondly 4 of the goals were very good headers, so it's crazy to think that whilst we're clearly missing the towering presence of Pelle in the box as we fruitlessly pump crosses into the box, we have a homegrown player away on loan and we don't seem to be that interested in him according to FF. Given the way they've played this season I'd be more that happy to bin Long and J-Rod off and give Sam a real go.
  11. Whats your point? It was only poor finishing from Liverpool at st Mary's that got us the point, they utterly hammered us otherwise. Arsenal are far to quick to play that defensive game against, that's my point.
  12. Annoyingly their win today has left them with an outside chance of finishing fourth still so we can be sure Wenger will be going for the 3 points. I guess the question is whether Puel tries to match them at their own game, or uses his tactics from the Man City and Liverpool home games and set up to defend. Could be in for a hiding in that case.

    Fraser Forster

Very good game today, did everything you'd expect from an England international GK. The question of course is why he doesn't play like that each week.
  14. Not the most exciting game but textbook away performance at a better side. Anyone that moans about coming back from Anfield with a clean sheet and a point is a bellend.
  15. Cracking gamesmanship from the lads there, fair play Fraser.
  16. Really wish the camera wouldn't keep cutting to that floppy haired **** Klopp every 2 minutes.
  17. Wish Tadic would stop being a fanny whenever he gets fouled
  18. Still adds to their claim of most decorated club on the South, regardless of it being League 2.
  19. One more trophy more than us to their collection FFS. Hate those dirty ****s.

    Puel out

To be fair I don't really see why having no European experience is an excuse for our early exit, we were still the best team in our group from by far the best domestic lead. Plus of course there's the fact that Leicester managed to reach the Quarter Finals of the CL with less European experience than us.

    1st May

I really hope as a now 31 year old, that I too get to see a day like that at some point before I die. Also hope that it doesn't take another 14 years to reach a major cup final.

    Puel out

Remember back in January/February when all the happy clappers said our results would improve once we were out of the cups and didn't have to rotate as much? Well it's been 2 months since our last cup game and we're still ****. Im not exactly sold on someone taking over the club, but if it means getting rid of Puel and Les and bringing in a manager that wants to play exciting football abd take us up a notch I'm all for it.
  23. Also worth mentioning the fact that as there is no financial incentive for us to renew before the deadline this year people probably aren't too bothered at the moment. The price will remain the same until they stop selling so the only benefit is to keep our usual seat.
  24. This is the sort of game I expect Gabbi to shine and punish any mistakes a shaky Hull defence make. That being said we all remember games like QPR and Cardiff at home in the past few years when an awful team has done a job on us so hopefully we don't underestimate them. 3-1 Saints I reckon, us to go 2-0 up, they score to make it a nervy finish before Yoshi grabs the third
  25. Hopefully won't jinx it but despite our concerns Lee Mason has been decent for us.
