  1. That home shirt really is class. Love the stripes on the arms, really adds to the retro shirt feel. Looking further ahead now that we've finally got the shirt fans have wanted for years, what sort of kit will we go for 2018/19? Would love a modern take on the 76/77 cup winners shirt, would make us stand out from all the other Red and White striped teams.
  2. Home kit is top class, my only complaint is the collar, would have preferred it was black, or was a proper collar like the Keegan shirt. Those away collars in the same design would have been nice too, any chance some He could do a mock up of that?
  3. Really hope Les has got an ace up his sleeve as none of the names being touted on here fill me with confidence. Giving a untested Giggs a chance because he was a winner as a player is the sort of stupid idea I'd expect from Rupert Lowe, factor in the managerial careers of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gary Neville and it's a no from me.
  4. Would Ben a genius way to announce a new manager, or player, cast them as the thief and they like the kit so much they choose to sign for us.
  5. Classy family. Although one could argue he'd be more than clued up about life behind the scenes under Puel and probably knows a hell of a lot we don't regarding players opinions.
  6. Good riddance Claude, you were probably a nice bloke but watching saints felt like a chore at times last season. Roll on next season....
  7. That'd be me. My VHS/DVD converter broke so I had to stop with the uploads, I've still gets loads of old Saints tapes in the loft though.
  8. Victim of the rotation policy unfortunately for him. Think he'd be better off looking for a move to a decent Championship club where he's more likely to start each week and find regular goal scoring form.
  9. Can only assume it's due to the positioning of the white stripe on the home shirt, the logos are a bit closer together than on a normal shirt as they'd be on or too close to the black stripes otherwise
  10. If that is indeed the home kit it'll be the first one I've bothered buying for years.
  11. Really jealous of that signing, Begovic is a class act and will do well for them. I'd take him over Fraser any day of the week, even accounting for the fact he's an ex skate. instead of ****ing about with McCarthy, Taylor and Hassen we should have signed him and provided some proper competition for the no 1 spot.
  12. Damn that pesky Lawrenson predicting us to lose, the audacity of the bloke! That was proper **** today, Stoke were awful and were only ever going to score from a long ball into Crouch. Quelle surprise that's exactly what happened! Looking forward to starting the new season already, without clueless Claude at the helm with dour Mr. Black as back up. Anyone got any photos of what the ground looked like for the lap of "appreciation", I suspect that would have told Kat and Ralph all they needed to know about whether Puel is the man for next season.

    Puel out

Whilst going to SMS has felt like pulling teeth at times this season, I'm yet to see someone come up with a replacement for Puel that actually sounds like a good idea. Don't get me wrong I'm by far a fan of his brand of football, and as of yet have not renewed my ST, but I'd still rather take mid table mediocrity next year than gamble on a bloke that couldn't keep Hull in the league.
  14. I wonder if the half and half scarves will be on sale tomorrow like they were for the Hull match. Seriously who thinks they're ever going to make a profit selling scarves to a drab league game between two mid table clubs. With regards to the match I've given up trying to predict results this season, I just hope we score some goals and give the place a lift as it's been **** going to games lately.

    Matt Oakley

No not at all, Oakley was quality for us, and massively under appreciated.
  16. I'd happily welcome Nigel back here, but only as part of the coaching set up. I love the bloke and will always be grateful for what we achieved, but Premier League manager he isn't unfortunately.

    Matt Oakley

Indeed, some people only remember the post injury Matt Oakley after he was crocked in 2004 and was never the same player for us. I remember Gordon Strachan was championing him for an England call up around that time too. One of the best attacking centre mids I've seen in a Saints shirt, for those that never saw him play I'd say he was a cross between Gylfi Sigurdsson in shooting ability and Steven Davis in work rate.
  18. Agree with this, would also say with all due to respect to Yoshi, that playing alongside a CB as good as VVD is going to strengthen his game massively. Just hope VVD is here next season...
  19. In most circumstances I'd be happy with a point against United, but the disappointing thing tonight is that they were there for the taking and again we lacked the killer instinct in the final third to finish the job. Anyone that thinks we played **** needs their eyes testing, we were great at the back and getting it through the middle, something just isn't working up top. Think we need a new striker coach to work on that part of our game, to have gone six hours without scoring at home is dreadful. Frustrating that Puel only seems to sub like for like rather than changing the system. Shame that dead ball specialist JWP wasn't standing over that penalty as the mood would probably be a lot different on here, although to assume it would have stayed 1-0 would be foolish. On a side note does anyone know when we last scored from a corner? Never understand the big roar that goes up each time the ref signals for one, only to see our team of short arses out jumped for the ball, assuming it even makes it into the box.
  20. 4-2 to Saints at 80/1 with Skybet, got a feeling in my waters. Either that or I've got the s hits! They have zero to play for in terms of League position, where as we do, and I reckon if we go out there and truly believe we can batter them we will.
  21. Fonte receiving dogs abuse on twitter for not playing the offside trap properly. Shame.
  22. i find that unlikely myself, it should always be the keepers decision whether he comes off his line or not. With a GK the size and build of Forster he should be clattering everyone in his way to get that ball, especially inside his 6 yard box. Given his height and reach he'll get to the ball no probs, even just to punch, and any obstruction would likely result in a foul.

    Les Reed

Post match interview with Koeman on MOTD criticising Barkley for trying to negotiate a move with his agent and not letting the club know what his plans are, what a ****ing hypocrite.
  24. Nodded off 10 minutes into the watching the game earlier so only just seen the highlights on MOTD, positive thoughts are firstly happy to get a win away from home and cracking finishes for both of our goals. Disappointments are missing another penalty, shame to have lost that assurance of Le Tiss, Beatts and Lambert that a goal was assured and frustrating once again that Bamford headed their goal inside the 6 yard box right in front of Forster who should be clearing that, no excuses. How did Caceres and Pied get on today anyone?
  25. Just watched the highlights video of all his Blackburn goals, couple of things I noted. Firstly he seems to have gained a yard of pace, and some of those finishes were very clinical. Secondly 4 of the goals were very good headers, so it's crazy to think that whilst we're clearly missing the towering presence of Pelle in the box as we fruitlessly pump crosses into the box, we have a homegrown player away on loan and we don't seem to be that interested in him according to FF. Given the way they've played this season I'd be more that happy to bin Long and J-Rod off and give Sam a real go.
