For what it's worth, TWar, I have found your input very informative of late. Don't let old man Turkish put you off contributing in future, please.

We've had some good results from difficult games at the start of the season, so we are obviously disappointed not to win that today. More so that we've lost it. Fucking frustrating today, so familiar to games at St Marys the last 3 or 4 years. Just turgid, pondering shite going forward.

Neither is gambling addiction, and yet the club is happy to push that little dalliance in supporters faces. All this about is choice. Choice to stand or sit. Choice to have a beer or don't.
-
Excellent point well made.

I agree there will always be those that take things too far or can't handle their drink. That much is obvious. For the rest of us, just having the option to have a beer while enjoying the game would be great. There will be a lot of worry and drama about allowing people to drink in the two 45 minute windows in which a football match is played. I honestly can't see it making much of a difference. If people want to get hammered today, they will do it before and after the game, or down a drink at half time.

Consider me surprised to see this even being considered! Wouldn't it be great to be treated like adults: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12416189/drinking-in-seats-at-football-grounds-could-be-reinstated-as-part-of-a-fan-led-review-into-the-game

The mods thank me.

You mean more and more people that have had enough of your tedious shit spewing bollocks, Turkish. I love to see it. I really do.

Jeez the B team is properly terrible.

Our never ending stint of away draws in the League cup continues. Nightmare draw.
-
Everyone behind the Northam goal and in the wings at that end stands anyway (apart from the odd away following, depends who is visiting) - as someone who "sits" at that end of the ground, it doesn't make much difference to me, apart from creating a bit more room to stand in front of the seat. What I really want is a lifting of the blanket ban on drinking alcohol in view of the pitch. I'm not a heavy drinker, but I would at least like the option of a pint while watching the game. The ban seems totally disproportionate in my view, and doesn't reflect my time supporting Saints and attending matches in the last 15 or so years. I wasn't around to see the hooligan 80s, all of that is ancient history as far as I'm concerned, and I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen violence at St Mary's. Just let me have a beer FFS.

Didn't we lose our last League cup game against them at their place? Quarter final wasn't it? Disappointing start anyway.

Hoping to get 3 tix for this on Wednesday, when it makes it to my tier of sale. Never bothered with Chelsea away before, but it's been ages since we've been able to do a London away day so I'm up for it regardless of the rimming the team could be in for (Chelsea look very hard to beat this season)

We've been scammed there. Fucking joke.

Yea I can't fine anyhting. Annoying!

Thats wonderful mate. I'm sure you'll find most people don't want to hand over money to something they know full well is illegal and is likely to vanish without a moment notice.

What do we think about Pep's sly dig at the City fanbase for not selling out the stadium for their CL opener against Leipzig earlier in the week? Hasn't gone down well with the City fans, and he's just said in his presser that he's not going to apologise for what he said (basically asking for people to show up on Saturday because they will be tired...)
-
And I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, hope you feel personally offended and abused.

Beyond caring. Used to like using this forum but it's just ruined by your never-ending contrarian, anti-woke, forum-poster hating dross. You are a fucking shit head.

The only knob around here is you. You tedious trolling cunt.

Spot on.

I think St Marys is actually on its second set of big-screens already. The current ones were a big step up on the originals, which were crap. I think they were installed around the same time they switched to LED lighting? I was surprised they were replacing them already tbh.

I know a few people that have already been doing this for years. Myself included. No panic from me. We have a good squad, hopefully the defence will settle and we'll find our feet before long. Tough old start though.

Think I might just go to the pub and put my fingers in my ears tomorrow afternoon

It's despairing for the people of Afghanistan. It's also an incredible waste of life and money (stats below) - all that loss and for what? Imagine the problems that could have been solved with all that cash. 2,312 - The number of US personnel killed 20,660 - The number of US personnel injured $776bn - The official estimated cost of US operations since 2001 456 - The number of British deaths in Afghanistan since 2001 64,100 - The estimated number of Afghan military and police killed, 2001-19 (Source: Brown University) 111,000 - Number of civilians killed or injured (Source: UN)
