trousers Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Liebherr is the proud owner of a business that never went into administration. Does this mean that the Football League cannot/will not pursue him for a CVA? In other words, is this the end of the Administration saga as far as the club and the Football League are concerned and, as such, is there there now no chance whatsoever of further points penalties? NOt sure - way I see it if the FL consider SLH and SFC tone and the same - the deal to sell SLH assets can ONLY have been done with teh agreement (essentially a sCVA) of teh major creditors Barclays and AVIVA) as such I think we are home free - however - the slight worry is that i am sure the FL rules are still a little ambiguous as they can apply points deductions if they feel a club has gained a significant sporting advantage by having its debts cleared - not sure if there are any specific details on this but its how that statemnet from teh FL read when fans were emailing the FL... trousers Posted 8 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 8 July, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4481773.No_more_points_deductions_for_Saints/ Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney said: "I would like to congratulate all those associated with the club that have helped to secure Southampton’s future. "I would especially like to thank Saints' supporters for rallying to the club’s cause during one of the most difficult periods in its history." No, thank you Mr Mawhinny for all your help over the last 3 months, especially the transparent and unambiguous communications.... FFS...

Selexus Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Is it me, or is Malwhinney having a dig at Pinnacle in the last paragraph?
eelpie Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 Does this mean that the FL agree to SLH playing in League 1, not SFC? (Just a lampoon aimed at Mahwindbag)
Thedelldays Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 does this prove that the FL did not and have not done anything wrong.. it took the swiss all of about a week or so to buy the club and we are not getting any more points deductions no more "issues" pinnacle on the other hand.............. S-Clarke Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 That statement from the FL proves what a complete and utter sham the pinacle bid was. what a lucky escape...!

Made in Southampton Posted 8 July, 2009 Share Posted 8 July, 2009 does this prove that the FL did not and have not done anything wrong.. it took the swiss all of about a week or so to buy the club and we are not getting any more points deductions no more "issues" pinnacle on the other hand.............. To me the reason Pinnacle used the points deduction was just a good excuse for them to delay the deal whilst in the back ground they were still trying to secure a solid backer. Having gone from 'One backer worth several hundred Million' to a 'Group of Backers' and then to a consortium says to me that they never really had a water tight bank balance. I do feel they may well have had it in plce to get past DD and to convince MLT (still a god in my eyes) but think they used the FL to delay procedings. FM I'm a happy man tonight.
