Chez Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 Having been moved from my Itchen 1 seat last summer I took a same price seat in Block 5. This is a centre position with a centre position price for 09/10 so I decided to move into block 4 and get the reduced ST price. Unfortunatley because I sit with two mates we need three in a row and there are none available in Block 4. Block 4 is obviously very popular and I pointed this out when asking about opening blocks 1-3, but the response I got was that that 1-3 would be the very last blocks they open, with Itchen 13-15 the first of the three corners to be opened should they be needed. Higher policing costs are the reason. Not sure what to do now. I either return to the Northam or get a seat in the Kingland wing anyone tell me the block number and what it is like over there? Chez - I think you mean block 37(ish) - I have sat there for about a season in the past and found it pretty good (a few of my mates still sit there), the atmos is good and the view is well the same as everywhere else in SMS - spot on. Scummer Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 Think from about block 33 counts as Kingsland/Northam wing. I used to have a season ticket in 34, level with the goal line. Was a good seat, but if I end up in the Kingsland these days I normally try to go for block 33.

sotonjoe Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 The view from block 4 is awful. I really don't understand why people would want to sit / stand here and have to turn 45 degress for the majority of the match.
Give it to Ron Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 I sit in Block 34 the view and atmosphere is pretty good. The mid to high rows the better.
SFC Forever Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 (edited) Will there be anyone taking a 5yo to the games this season? I am considering a season ticket for both me and him and wonder where to go thinking of him. Edited 16 July, 2009 by SFC Forever

I am considering a season ticket for both me and him and wonder where to go thinking of him. I've got a 4 yo and 6 yo and have got STs down on Row C in Block 34 Kingsland - really liked these seats last year and sit right next to the exit wall so have loads of room (I'm 6'4" so need the leg room!). Even better that I can rush out as soon as the half time whistle goes and get to the bar quicker than most

SoccerMom Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 Will there be anyone taking a 5yo to the games this season? I am considering a season ticket for both me and him and wonder where to go thinking of him. Depends on your 5 yr old! Mine was way too sensitive for anywhere but the family enclosure, but now he's 9 we are moving out to the Kingsland. Halfway up is good, too (from about Row Y), as if you're too low down nippers find it hard to see over the people in front. Wherever you decide to sit, make sure you get him an aisle seat. Then he will still be able to see when Saints score. Really, really important.

LGTL Posted 16 July, 2009 Share Posted 16 July, 2009 Thing that annoys me now is surely high policing costs isn't a problem now..... Block 1-3 do so much for the atmosphere, more the 42 IMO.

Kingsland Red Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 Chez, Block 33 is a good location, next to the Northam we sometimes are even heard to sing 'We're the Kingsland' and of course the rowdy amongst us circumnavigated the four police dogs onto the pitch at the end of last season. None of the Northam yoof in here but a block away from the more sedate purveyors of the beautiful game with their thermoses and blankets ! Hope this helps.
