rocknrollman no2 Posted 24 August, 2009 Share Posted 24 August, 2009 (edited) The club has come up with the idea of charging adult fans £5 and concessions £2,in the hope of encouraging more people to the game. Will anyone on here bother going to see us play in round two for the first time in our history,or is no one bothered? I will probably go and i think the club has got the price about right, although ST holders couldve been given free tickets as a thankyou, like we had against Ajax. I think that if we were to go all the way to Wembley, the people purchasing tickets to the earlier rounds, should get first refusal. That should guarantee decent crowds. Bourno Posted 24 August, 2009 Share Posted 24 August, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1767276,00.html Great idea to keep prices so low. We probably can't have free tickets as the away team has to agree prices, so I imagine there is some sort of income split. This is a serious chance to get to Wembley. You can't argue about a fiver for a game - I'll probably go.

saints_is_the_south Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 I'll go to every home game this season, little over a month ago we may not have had a football club to go & watch so that is reason enough to get to as many or every home game as possible. Ken Tone Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Mind you the OS referring to it as the Johnstone's PANT trophy doesn't exactly big it up does it? :-) K.
saints_is_the_south Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Sent an email to kelly with a few ideas. Discounts for STH's ala the carling cup games so far this season. I suggested £2 off so £3 for adults & free for concessions. Also £2 off if 1 member of the family of 4 is a STH so £8. Also suggested offering STH's a free ticket for the 2nd round should we be at home, pointed out that if it meant an extra 5k on the gate the club would probably make up the money lost on ticket sales on beer, burgers...etc inside the ground. Also keeping STH's happy. Another idea i put across was discounted hospitality, maybe £25 per person or £20 for STH's.

niceandfriendly Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Very reasonable prices. I'd go, and probably bring a few family members who've never been before if it only costs £5.

Bourno Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 I don't think that under a fiver for an adult is realistic, the club still have to adminster the sale of tickets, pay for the floodlights, stewards etc. Kids for £2 is fair enough. Andy_Porter Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 I'd go for a fiver, will be interesting to see how many we take away in the first couple of rounds.
Sheff Saint Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Prices about fair really. I think the club sould give this a real go this season. It being unlikey this season is anything more than a massive pre-season for 10-11, it being even more unlikely we'll have any joy in the Carling or FA Cups, getting to Wembley would be fab. And as Leeds, Noriwch and Charlton would all probably be going for the league we'd a) have a good chance and b) be able to take about 50k to wembley! SO16_Saint Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 i've sent this to Kelly @ the club: Hi there. Firstly, can I say what a great idea this is from the Club. Well done. I think it would be a good idea to have a deal whereby juniors attend free when they accompany with their parent / guardian (a full paying adult). It's the younger generation that is the future of the club and we need as many as possible in the ground. Another possibility would be to provide red & white scarfs for each attendee - or something that will improve the atmosphere within the ground. Just some thoughts, Regards,
paulwantsapint Posted 25 August, 2009 Share Posted 25 August, 2009 Fiver a ticket is more than fair should get well over 25k in tickets sold gate might not be so high as can see many buying tickets then not going as only £5 lost
